I love this place. My wife and I make a point of staying here once a year every year, even though we have family in the area. To me it offers a nice room and great location with a (relatively speaking) great price. First, the positives: This place is located right on the Fox River. It offers a great view.... more

this is a nice small hotel tucked away off the main street overlooking the river. the rooms were large and comfortable but the furniture was a little dated. The TV's were definitely too small for the rooms. The staff was friendly and had warm cookies at the counter. The hotel was very quiet. It is right across the river from... more

Exterior was lovely, lady at desk that did everything was anything but friendly.. Rooms nice size, but the heater units that were blowers sounded like jet engines. Bottom line, beds hard, not firm, but hard, and pillows the cheapest foam.. Dry heat from 2 long window heating units made my throat dry.. Went to eat in there find dining rest.and... more

Our visit was a one-night stay in a suite located on the lower level. Overall we were disappointed in how uncomfortable and dingy in appearance the room and its furnishings were given the premium price we paid on a NFL home game date and our expectations based on other reviews. We found the carpet on the lower level hallway leading... more

I love this place. The rooms are very nice - large and user friendly for a business trip. The personel are very accomodating and helpful. This is clearly the best place in the Green Bay area. The restaurant is very good - with a nice complimentary cocktail hour. Other nice extras - continental breakfast in the morning and freshly baked... more

I stayed at the James Street Inn in September for a week and was pleasantly surprised at the smart little Inn and it's bar / restaurant. The rooms are large suites though decorated in a sterile non affending corporate kinda way. The mini bar was fully stocked with a healthy variety of selections. The bathroom was very large though slightly... more

We spent one night at the James Street Inn ( a mill in it's former life) on a drive from Chicago to Houghton, Michigan. We found the price reasonable and a good value. The room was large with a queen bed and separate sitting/tv area, a view of the river & the hardy souls fishing in their row boats off... more

I was very thrilled about staying but when we wanted to try out the whirl pool in our room and got green water, the front desk man had a terrible attitude and even when we left after staying only 2 hrs they still tried to charge us. it inconvienienced our stay in the area. more

Management response from
Joan M Hentges, General Manager

This was an unfortunate situation. The 3rd shift desk clerk certainly could have handled the situation better and we have worked with all of our overnight staff regarding attitude and how to handle problems that may arise. The green water was an issue that had to do with our hot water heater and was remedied the next day. Since the...

The best place to stay in Green Bay. Very large, 100% soundproofed rooms (probably due to brick walls), well-appointed rooms, very nice continental breakfast, entire property has character/charm. Would stay here anytime I am in the area. more

James St. Inn is the place to stay in Green Bay if you desire peace and comfort. My husband and I attended a concert at the Wiedner Center (Peter, Paul and Mary - fantastic) and stayed two nights at James St. Inn in DePere, a suburb of Green Bay. Our room was large, clean and nicely decorated - very comfortable.... more
