This is a small lakeside town with not a lot of options. This was basically what I expected from a small town motel. The rooms were a nice size, but very, very outdated. It smelled very musty. The hot tub did not look very clean so I did not go in the pool or hot tub. Breakfast offered was little... More

We stayed here last weekend for my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary and I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were big and clean, with all the needed amenities (including WiFi). The owners and staff were more than accommodating; we immediately felt like welcome guests in their (large) home. Because virtually all the rooms open onto an an atrium with a pool,... More

Worst time I have had at a motel for what they charge for this dump. I would never stay here again. The management was absolutely TERRIBLE!!! There is bare plywood on the ceiling and everything was very dirty starting with the ceiling fans!!!

My family stayed at the Fireside Inn this past weekend for my sister's birthday. I arrived late in the evening and was tired from a full day of work and the ride up. I was welcomed by Al who manages the front desk with a welcoming smile. My family rented seven rooms and each room was comfortable and clean. Each... More

We stayed here again over Labor day while visiting friends that have a house in Cecil. We arrived and we couldn't get in our room right away but that's okay. Came back later and checked in. Nice and friendly place to stay and clean and comfortable. New person at front desk but overall friendly. We'll stay again. We planned on... More

My family goes each year to the Fireside Inn. The Inn has a nice sitting area outside the poolside rooms. A few arcade machine, but lacks privacy. In the rooms, the doors ( if left open ) can attract prying eyes. Also, watch out for the mini step going in to some of the rooms. The first room or sweet... More

Poolside rooms are convenient but the pool is tiny, same with the hot tub: they get crowded fast. The noise from the pool starts at 8am and continues on into the night with rooms full of partying teenagers. The seating in the gaming area is nice for chatting with others by the fireplace on cold nights but if you turn... More

This motel has two buildings, one that all the rooms open up to an great indoor pool area with tables & a fireplace. The other building is cheaper to stay at, but you must go outside to get to the pool. The decor is a bit out-dated, but the rooms have a kitchenette including a small stove and fridge. The... More
