I have to say that I don't have a ton of experience with campgrounds, but my GF does and we picked this place after a quick drive through. The shower house looks a little rough from the outside, but is clean and decent on the inside. I still showered with my flip-flops, but didn't feel like I really needed them.... More

We checked in with three of us, two of us not sure if we were staying. At 9pm, two hours before quiet hours, we were asked to be silent. Our two undecided friends "checked in" at 7pm and were told not to worry about paying and go park. THE PEOPLE AT THE GATE LET THEM IN AND TOLD US NOT... More

We were so busy this trip that we didn't get to enjoy a lot of downtime at the campsite, but Wheeler's was perfect. The couple that runs the place offered excellent service, and we loved our site. We arrived on a Saturday, and while the place was busy, it was still very quiet. The rest of the week we had... More

Well run, quiet, no frills campground. The owners run a respectable campground and do not put up with loud and obnoxious groups. Quiet and safety are important to these owners. Bath houses are clean and there is play ground equipment for children. I don't fish but I always see people at the pond fishing. Kids like to "gig" for frogs... More

Wheelers’ Campground is a great place to camp. It’s just a few miles from Devil’s Lake State Park and pretty close to Baraboo, if you want to go into town for breakfast or the weekend farmers’ market. There is good variety in the character of the tent campsites. Some campsites are in open areas. Others are in wooded areas that... More

I read the reviews on here, as I was making my reservations for yet another year of camping at Wheeler's. There are two "terrible" reviews that I laughed a little at. First of all, I am a single mom of two, and somewhat protective of our privacy, SAFETY, and ability to chill away from home in a family-oriented place. Also... More

We had a wonderful Memorial weekend at Wheelers. The grounds are very clean and landscaped. The owners are very friendly and helpful. At night it was quite and we no problems sleeping in our tent. We would recommend this to all our friends. We plan to stay at Wheelers when we visit the area in the future.

All in all a very nice place to camp. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with the rainy nights and the 38 degree lows. The Wheelers are a very nice couple and my wife and I had some nice conversations with them. My wife Ann and I would definitely go back, weather permitting.

We have a group of families that camp a couple of times a year. We spent this Memorial Day weekend at Wheeler's campground near Devil's Lake, WI. ( this trip 6 adults, 11 kids from 5 - 15 ) We enjoyed the experience so much we booked sites for our next "families trip" The campground is geared towards families, nature,... More

I have to concur with Tori from Las Vegas, the owner of this place is very rude, petty and abrasive. Devil's Lake S.P. which charges $17 per night for a tent site, was sold out so we had tried this place, which charged us $31 per night ($29 if you pay cash). We bought firewood from the owner for $5... More
