My friends and I read the reviews of how terrible the owners were but figured we would try this campground anyway. We were bringing our kids and figured if our behaviors were suitable enough for them we would have no problems....boy were WE WRONG! Marc is the most pompous, arrogant, tactless, antagonizing man I have EVER met! It was as... More

Our 8 year old son absolutely loves bugs and nature. This year he started asking us to take him camping in a tent. My cousin informed me that she was going camping for the 4th of July with her husband and children. We decided to go with them. We really wanted to have a great experience. We asked for a... More

When these folks checked in I explained the designated parking area and said " DO NOT MOVE THE BOULDERS". I explain this to every camper I check in on Site #66. We have these boulders to keep vehicles out of the site area to protect fragile tree roots. Marc noticed the moved boulder and vehicle in the site when he... More

A good friend recommended Wheelers so we checked it out at the beginning of the season season and fell in love! We are now completing our second visit which was 7 days over July 4th weekend. This place is immaculate, quiet and clean. Sites a plush with well manicured grass and very spacious. Please ignore the negative reviews as they... More

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at Wheeler's Campground! I'm sure your pleasurable camping experience was in no small part due to the stellar weather over the 4th. We appreciate your complimentary description of Wheeler's and look forward to your visit next year! More

I've been camping at Wheeler's for quite a few years now, what keeps my family coming back is how quiet and clean the place is every time. The size of the camping sites is enormous, never camped at a place offering such well maintained large sites. To say it's clean and well maintained is an understatement. The Campground is very... We have camped in a number of different cities and states. Wheeler's is the only campground we return to year after year. The grounds are beautiful, so well maintained, and the facilities are clean. Mark and Lollie, the owners, are approachable, warm, and fun to connect with. Though we live in the Twin Cities, our friends live in South Bend,... More

I would never stay here again. Do not recommend this campground to any one. Marc [--] is the rudest person u will ever meet. Not freindly and very disrepectful. If u want to enjoy camping and just be left alone without someone always in your buisness stay somewhere else. Way to much money u can stay in the Dells for... More

As owners of a private campground, Marc and Ifeel it is our responsibility to provide a pleasant, clean and peaceful camping environment for all of our guests. It is unfortunate that these campers chose to run a chainsaw at their site, have unregistered visitors after bar time, and have loud drunken arguments past our quiet hours. When we have complaints... The people who run the campsite were extremely rude to me! Both on the phone and in person, the staff at the campground did not treat me with respect. They actually called me a rude name! I would recommend looking into staying at a state park. The prices were also much higher than I would have liked! I would never... More

Had been to Wheelers Campground twice. First time we only spent 1 nite and were off to Devils Lake for most of the weekend. The second time we spent 3 nites at Wheelers and really saw what this guy is about. On nite 1 he berated the campers across the way for singing too loud at dinner time (6pm). The... More

The campground itself was great! My sister and our husbands all came to stay for the night because the state park was full. We all really liked the choices of camping spots and a lot of them were more private. The bathrooms were clean too. The only two downsides were the price...$60 for ONE NIGHT for the 4 of us!... We loved our stay at Wheeler's Campground. It is very clean, well-kept and quiet. The grounds are very well maintained and the site is just beautiful. The tent sites are huge, which we loved - plenty of room for our large tent. The shower house is impeccable - clean, lots of hot water and plenty of room. We bought a... More
