This is our fourth fall foliage visit in eight years. They charge top dollar, but it is totally worth it, if what you are looking for is a quiet, elegant, intimate getaway. The decor and ambiance are authentic early Americana. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and with all high-end conveniences. Every guest wakes up to a beautiful sunrise over... More

This lovely inn reminded us of the cozy and chic B&B's of Colonial Williamsburg or the UK. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. The beds were comfortable, and the ensuite whirlpool was a plus. The staff was always friendly. Breakfast on the terrace, over looking the great lake, was a delight. Popcorn and homemade cookies and lemonade were special... More

We came up for a long weekend and started off in a little motel in Ephraim and ended up with a one night stay here. It happened to be the day the rates dropped which was nice. From the minute we arrived to the time we left we loved it. Sam who greeted us upon arrival took us over to... More

We have mixed feelings on this place. It was nice and we are sympathetic to the small business owner for sure, so mean no harm by this review ~hopefully only improvement suggestions. The BI had it's positives and negatives. I will just list them out. 1. It is clear the owners care about this place, and we met one and... More

As innkeepers who live and breathe our inn 24/7, it is so disheartening when a guest does not give us the opportunity during their stay to put a problem right. We started with firm mattresses, then some years ago we learned at an innkeeper's seminar that soft mattresses were in vogue, we replaced all our mattresses and got a raft... More

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our first anniversary. This place has simply thought of everything. The décor of both of the buildings is very cozy and inviting, with the scent of warm apple cider and cookies greeting us. We really enjoyed the stock of movies and games, as well as the well stocked drink supply of hot... More

This was my wife's and my second trip here, and they didn't disappoint. It is quiet, relaxing and beautiful. The service is second to none and the location is breathtaking! The rooms are quiet and comfortable. Will always highly recommend this place for couples who want to escape for a peaceful retreat.

We were a group of four girlfriends who shared the 4 bedroom, 3 bath Orchard House across the street from the Main Inn. The house suited our needs perfectly. The only caveat is that breakfast and the afternoon snacks and drinks are not available to occupiers of the Orchard House. To this day I don't quite understand it! There is... More

So happy this group enjoyed the house. Our state licensing allows us to serve food only to the guests staying at the inn. The Orchard House, while we manage the rental of it, is not part of the inn for licensing purposes. We do inform Orchard House guests of this caveat and publish it as part of the information on... My husband & I have stayed at the Blacksmith twice now and plan to stay again for any future Door County visits. It's such a beautiful and peaceful place! It's perfect for a romantic getaway! The staff are very friendly and helpful, and we've really enjoyed the breakfasts. We can't wait to go back!

This is a charming, rustic, and yet very comfortable inn. We arrived to find popcorn, lemonade and cherry cookies available for our afternoon snack. in the cozy common area. Our room was beautiful with woven blankets and quilt on a comfortable bed, and a bathroom with wood paneling. With a balcony overlooking the lake and a Jacuzzi in our room... More
