My wife and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at Maxwelton Braes. We live in Milwaukee along with the majority of our family and friends, so this was very much a destination wedding. The staff was very friendly and accommodating throughout the months leading up to the wedding. They were always willing to walk through every aspect of the... More

Thank you for your kind words. You and Amanda and both families were such a pleasure to host for the weekend, our staff felt like part of your family. Your wedding was just beautiful and you are a lovely couple. Good luck to you both, come back and visit anytime. More

My cousin had her outdoor wedding and wedding reception at this facility last night. The majority of the wedding party as well as a few other family members also stayed at this place over the weekend. From everything that they said the staff here were very accommodating and every aspect of the wedding, the facility was very well-kept and clean,... More

After a long day of visiting small towns in the Door County Wisconsin area we arrived at a Golf Course to find this hidden gem of a hotel. The hotel itself looks to be the Golf Course Clubhouse. We were surprised to find the hotel location in this wonderful stone building. The check-in was very smooth at the small front... More

We reserved 2 nights here last minute because other hotels were 90% booked. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the beauty of the main lodge. The craftsmanship and the care of the main lodge is astoundingly beautiful! Great food and service at both restaurants with reasonable prices and generous portions. Suite was very clean, large, and updated. Most... More

My boyfriend and I were definitely younger than mostly everyone (mid to upper 20's) but we enjoyed ourselves. We stayed in the mid level rate room and we're pleasantly suprised. It was clean and we would stay here again.

This was the second time my husband, Tom and I stayed at Maxwelton Braes. The first time was about eight years ago for my nieces wedding that was also held there. The first time the whole wedding party and families stayed in the fairway suites. This time we stayed in one of the king lodge rooms. Laura in the office... More

Pasta Vino is the nae of the restaurant at Max Welton Braes. The original owner had this restaurant in two different locations. The first spot was small and superb. His next venture was larger and I felt he becoming burned out trying to manage too many diners. He then sold to someone who opened at Max Welton Braes. These new... More

Our second time at Maxwelton Braes. We stayed in the Fairway Suites. Spacious frontroom, expansive view of the outside through 2 big picture windows, big bedroom, and nice sitting area outside in front of the suite. The history of Maxwelton, the woods, the expansive grounds and the golf course give the place a stately and distinguished feel. The staff was... More

The Maxwelton Braes Resort has been in operation for well over 70 years. There is an old-fashioned quaintness about the lodge and property that contributes to its charm. The rooms are clean and comfortable, having been updated over the past 10 years. The owners and staff have been friendly and courteous during repeated visits. The Sandpiper restaurant located on the... More

Very disappointing. There are plenty of places to stay in Door County, DON'T let this one be one of them. This lodge is located in the middle of nowhere, nothing is located nearby in walking distance. We read the earlier reviews and should have listened to what people wrote. The place should be torn down. We stayed in the Vintage... More

We did just have a big storm during which we lost about 9 very large tree's. We are working on the clean-up. I am so sorry the last of the tree stumps were instrumental in ruining your stay. We have many guests that enjoy our Fairway Suites and have been coming for years. I hope you will find your special... More
