The company where my husband works paid for managers and their spouses to stay at the Greenbrier for three nights to attend the WV Coal Association (2011). Everything was paid by the company (room, dinner, the men's golfing). The women were given a $200-250 allowance for activities to use while the men golfed. I was bored senseless after half a... More

Returned to the Greenbrier which I last visited 30 years ago as a teenager. Pros: well preserved historic hotel and facilities, mostly friendly staff, new restaurants (when they are open). Cons: $10 to use/purchase a bottle opener from the mini bar (tip: you can open a beer using the bathroom door jam), small bathroom/bathtub, overpriced spa which doesn't include use... More

Accompanied my husband on business trip in July for 3 day visit. Amazing experience, could not fault the hotel staff or facilities that the hotel has to offer, tennis and golf especially very good. The outdoor pool was set in really nice surroundings. Customer service outstanding, room decor a bit old fashioned but still an exceptional standard. All our meals... More

This is a very expensive historic hotel that is worth every penny. You will be treated like royalty the minute you arrive with the door man making you feel at home with a big smile and a friendly WELCOME, It is like you step in to a time machine and you are a 100 years in the past. The rooms... More

We went to the Greenbrier for a last minute family vacation and had the best time! Incredible service, room and activities. Everyone from the staff to vacationers were extremely friendly. We stayed in the Spring Row Cottages which were located close to the pool, tennis courts and golf. Restaurants provided delicious food but were quite pricey. The activities that we... More

The Greenbrier is a very famous resort and certainly not cheap. But if you want the feel of how the other half (or the top 2%) live, this is the place. The Greenbrier is a small city compared to most hotels. We couldn't get to some of the other rooms on our floor without taking a different elevator. The enormous... More

I have been a guest here many times, beginning as a child. It really just gets better and better. The ambiance and hospitality are great. If you can, the best accomodations are the cottages. They are so spacious and well-appointed. My most recent visit was for a conference and I was able to invite several colleagues to the cottage for... More

My husband and I stayed at the Greenbrier Inn during the off season at the end of February. We got a "deal" but after what we went through, we don't consider it a deal at all. In fact, we asked for our money back for our stay and only got 2 out of the 5 days we stayed there. On... More
