My wife and I have been to the Greenbrier maybe a dozen times. It is a favorite place on earth for us. We have seen it during every season except January. We were just there for Christmas and it was spectacular. But we wanted to see it in the dead of winter so we invited some friends who have never... More

I just completed my 3rd stay at the Greenbriar in the last 2 years. Obviously, I love the place. It's a real must for anyone who loves mountains, history, golf, casinos, spas and/or truly grand hotels. The Greenbriar is accessible via Amtrak on the 3 run per week Cardinal -- the White Sulpher Springs train station is right across the... More

The Greenbrier was one of those places I wanted to stay before I died (bucket list hotel) and wow I was not disappointed. I had a great room at an affordable rate, my wife used the spa which she loved and I took the bunker tour which was the main reason I wanted to stay. The tour was very interesting... More

While many choose to visit many restaurants on the grounds, we could not be happier with this restaurant, we actually travel to the greenbrier not necessarily for the resort, but for the ham/swiss on brie and/or the salmon. If you go to the greenbrier please visit here, and the desserts would satisfy any child.

My wife and I went to the Greenbrier for my wife's 40th birthday in November - we left our daughter at home with her grandparents. The resort is impressive in its size and scale. The restaurants were very good - not the best food or service you've ever had - but very good. The activities available to us in November... More

Service could never be better, activities for everyone and all ages from horseback riding, fly fishing, beautiful grounds, wonderful infinity pool and I could gone on for ever, a must stay at least once (would suggest at least a week, and you'll still never see or do everything) at the Greenbrier! Did I also mention that I go engaged there,... More

While the facility and the staff are exceptional, we were not previously advised that most of the amenities and restaurants were closed. Since this was our first trip, we obviously were filled with great expectations. Had we known, we would have chosen another destination.

This was my first time here as I had to attend a Conference. Pulling up to the property, even in the cold, nasty. pooring rain weather was a "WOW" moment. The inside was nice with a lot of history through pictures lining the walls. The lobby, casino, rooms were nice, but not what I was expecting... I'm not even sure... More

You can't go wrong with the crab cakes... they're super tasty. I also love the chicken and waffles... but the greatest of all: fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese. I eat them at least once a day, usually twice, and never regret it for a second. The sweet tea with simple syrup is too good for words. A must try!

I can normally churn out a review pretty quickly, even at times typing one right from my restaurant seat if I'm particularly peeved. The Greenbrier, however, has never been a place that I could communicate into any sort of unbiased report. Having stayed there around six times in the last two years, I can truly say that this "resort" has... More
