This was fun and entertaining. As the Greenbrier historian mentioned during his presentation; the Greenbrier is expensive. Unlike a nearby resort hotel with similar history; the Greenbrier is in first class condition with first class staff. Oh, the nearby resort in Virginia treated us as though we were prisoners of war. We will never go back. Excellent restaurants and bar... More

We are thrilled to learn that you enjoyed your recent visit with us! Thank you for mentioning the efforts of or engineering and maintenance team members. In April 2014 The Greenbrier instituted our Historic Preservation Fund (HPF) promising to use the proceeds from this fund solely for the maintenance and preservation of The Greenbrier for future generations. Now almost a... More

We took a long weekend trip to the Greenbrier Hotel in West Virginia, it was our anniversary. Our main objective was to get away, but we were also very interested in the "Bunker". We booked our Bunker tour in advance, and we were not disappointed. If you are interested in Cold War intrigue or government conspiracies, the Bunker Tour is... More

Thank you for your recent visit to the Greenbrier and your kind review. We are glad that you enjoyed the tour of the cold war bunker, code named, Project Greek Island. What other resort or hotel can post of partnering with the U.S. government for almost forty years to provide the facilities and an operational plan to ensure the survival... More

With over 6000 acres, Greenbrier offers many choices of indoor and outdoor amusements. We stayed in March, but the Christmas lights on the ice skating rink were still lit, beautifully so. There's a gazillion choices of cushy seating, all with a view. Huge fireplaces were crackling and I was surprise to find real logs burning instead of the more decorative... More

Thank you for your humbling review. Your kind words for our staff members are greatly appreciated; we believe they are our greatest asset. We could accomplish nothing without the dedication of over 1800 team members. At The Greenbrier we believe that our first job everyday is to simply care about our guests and their enjoyment of the resort. We are... More

Southern charm and beauty are two expressions that work for The Greenbrier. People have been coming to the White Sulphur Springs for more than 230 years and the facility which covers more than 10,000 acres is still stately and well maintained. The staff treats you as though your comfort and pleasure is their only reason for being there. While the... More

Thank you for your kind and gracious review. We are honored that you feel our staff members treat our guest as though their comfort and pleasure is our only reason for being there; because that is our only reason for being here. Without you our valued guests The Greenbrier would not be the grand resort that it is. We appreciate... More

We went for lunch. Ate at a closed in place that had no access to the glorious view. The food was totally mediocre. It felt claustrophobic. Like being on a cruise and never looking at the sea. It was all about shopping rather than the interesting history of the place. Very disappointed

We have been going to the Greenbrier for over 20 years. It was our first choice especially when our kids were younger. Being able to rent a cottage, with all the amenities of the hotel, unlimited activities where you can do as much or as little as you choose, not to mention a world class spa, were all reasons we... Was excited to stay at The Greenbrier due to the bunker however, I felt we were just a little out of place. My wife and I felt the hotel catered towards more of the "affluent clientele". Dress codes and over priced meals made us feel a little out of place. The decor is incredibly old fashioned and we felt like... More

The Greenbrier is a beautiful resort and a “must-visit” if you do have the opportunity to stay here. The rooms here are very spacious and the staff provides amazing service. I suggest staying more than one night, because there is plenty to do (no matter what time of year) and be sure to take the bunker tour.

I phoned reservations a week prior to visiting The Greenbrier, rather short notice, i spoke with Julie in reservations who was patient and answered all my questions. She was kind approachable and accommodating. She set the tone for what was to be a wonderful, lovely, restful visit. My husband and I arrived a bit early for check-in and were given... More

The moment The Greenbrier came into sight, with it’s grand size and it’s classic architecture, our excitement built. We were met by welcoming valet attendants who loaded our luggage onto a rolling cart and guided us to the registration desk where we were given a warm welcome and a cold glass of champagne. There was no line and they wasted... More
