Our van developed a transmission problem as we were passing through Wheeling WV on our way back home. The mechanic brought us to this hotel to stay in while he worked on it. I was in sticker shock over the price ($114 a night without discounts) - we haven't stay in any hotels for a long time. Once I got... more

Wheeling doesn't have many hotel choices but this turned out to be the best value/choice for the money. There is a huge baseball tournament held in Wheeling every year and this hotel was convenient to all field locations. When I booked online they clearly stated there was construction going on so there were no surprises. We were in a completely... more

This hotel is still under construction but there are at least two floors of fully-renovated, brand-new rooms. The room design and finish was excellent, with comfortable beds, large flat-screen TVs, and an attractive closet-desk area -- they are very attractive and comfortable, like something right out of a Hampton Inn brochure. The public areas -- lobby, checkin, and breakfast area... more

We stopped June 29, 2009, for an overnight stay on way back to Illinois. The room we had was freshly painted, new everything! The bathroom was roomy and had new vanity which looked like it had a granite top. It was very clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. They had free wifi and a super set up... more

Came through Wheeling on our way to NYC and decided to stop and stay. Room was brand new, still smelled like paint. Still some construction marks where they centered things and the trim was not complete. Heard construction noise the next morning, but not until after 9am. Front desk was most helpful and pleasant. more

The top floors have been renovated, even have 40" flat screen TV's and the beds are great. Down side; rooms have not been inspected well as there is poor workmanship and follow up on the details. The first floor, desk area and breakfast area have been severly impacted due to the renovations that are in process. more

We went to Wheeling for a Birthday Weekend Getaway. We didn't plan on being in the room much, just needed to shower and sleep. I let them know it was my fiancee's birthday in advance. When we arrived we were upgraded to a suite at no extra charge. The staff was pleasant and more than helpful. We called the front... more

With the Hampton brand you know what you're going to get. The room was clean, the staff friendly. The hotel was dated, with no business center. The breakfast featured donuts from a local bakery, which upgraded Hampton's usual over processed frozen food hot options. TJ's Sports Garden, a solid sports bar, a short walk across the street makes this a... more

We stayed at this motel for a weekend while doing some shopping and visiting the city. The motel is definately not one of the better Hampton Inns we have stayed in. On the last evening there we found the book of things to do on the coffee table in the commons area. It would have been nice to have seen... more

I stayed at the Hampton Inn Wheeling on July 26-28, 2008. My purpose was personal business-- I was studying for the bar exam and needed a quiet place to lock myself into a hotel room and study. The Hampton Inn in Wheeling more than fulfilled its purpose. I had absolutely zero problems with noise, as it was very quiet the... more
