Tastefully kept country house hotel with excellent dining facilities. Very comfortable rooms with very attentive staff. Swimming pool, unheated but in pleasant gardens. Identifies itself as a restaurant with rooms, which is a fair assessment.

We have just returned from a two night short break including breakfast and evening meal. We had a wonderful stay at The Old Rectory. The hosts (Chris and Sally) are so welcoming and friendly. We had room 1 which had a beautiful terrace where it was delightful to sit and admire the gardens. The bed was so comfortable with beautiful... More

We booked at the last minute, but the charming first floor room in the old coach house didn't disappoint - bird feeder outside window, view of swimming pool and gardens, nice peace and quiet except for a few minutes when the clubbers came up the stairs or a neighbouring baby briefly cried. The environs are quiet but the corridor is... More

Didn't stay here - but chose to go for dinner! Excellent! Welcoming host. Aperitifs in the beautifully furnished lounge where our orders were taken and then through to the dinning room, airy and personal. Waiter was brilliant and very knowledgeable about the menu. All courses cooked to order, so no hurry and beautifully presented. Please see photos. Could not find... More

What a gem!! This hotel was the most wonderful place, the room was excellent, large spacious with a wonderful view. Quite location and wonderful hooting owl at night. In easy reach of everything in Norfolk. The breakfasts were wonderful every morning and I simply can't fault anything. Staff all lovely, everything spotlessly clean just a wonderful holiday!

I don't often give 5 but this hotel was superb. We stayed 2 nights and booked a deal with evening meals in the restaurant. The room was spotless, beautifully furnished and great view of the garden and beyond. The ensuite contained a bath and a shower and lots of space. The only problem we noticed was that the water in... Lovely hosts. Very helpful with luggage and tips on local transport and eating places. Great facilities with a beautiful outdoor area. Fantastic location with easy bus transport in and out of Norwich at the front of the premises. Clean and tidy room with free wifi. Great breakfasts served in the restaurant. Would recommend having at least one evening meal in... More

The only reason it took us the best part of ten years to pay a second visit to The Old Rectory is that we haven't had occasion to visit East Anglia since. However we decided to put that right this year and had no hesitation as to where we should stay. It's still under the same ownership with friendly and... More

We didn't know where to stay in Norfolk but were delighted we chose here for a 6 night stop. There is so much to see and we were given lots of helpful advice by Chris the proprietor. It is handy for Norwich but we didn't have to get held up in the traffic which we would have if closer to... More
