We stayed here last weekend with a group of friends and everything was perfect. We are looking forward to our next visit. The food and service were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is well located on the edge of the city and has real character.

Chose to stay at The Old Rectory for our Ruby Wedding celebration along with two other couples. No point repeating what other posted have already said but just wanted to say a very big thank you to Chris and the staff for making our stay so enjoyable. What sets this place apart from others is it has owners who care... More

Spent one night rooms are well equipped, clean and everything you need, good wi-fi staff all helpful and friendly, breakfast was excellent, didn't have time to sample dinner, maybe next time. A nice quiet hotel, tucked away but extremely close to the river, and Norwich

My wife and I spent one night there during our recent trip to Norfolk. We had a warm hearted late night welcome by Chris after a long car ride from Devon and enjoyed a drink in the drawing room before retiring to our room (no. 3). After a good night's rest we enjoyed our full english breakfast before moving on.... More

After a visit to the Lotus car factory and museum at Hethel we stayed at nearby Norwich for two nights. This gem exceeded all my expectations. The host, Chris, was marvelous. We had the deluxe double in the Old Coach House which was comfortable and warm. There was wifi and good privacy. We had breakfast and dinner each night and... More

My husband and I recently stayed at the Old Rectory for a weekend to celebrate our Silver Wedding anniversary. It is a very nice hotel set in pleasant gardens. The building is lovely, high ceilings and tall windows and the furnishings are very comfortable. We stayed in a Deluxe Double room and had a large room. The en-suite bathroom had a... More

My colleague and I had to travel to Norwich for a friend's funeral yesterday, and we stayed at the Old Rectory. What a friendly relaxed atmosphere. We were accommodated with a late meal, well presented and tasty. Our rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable. My bathroom was large with a large power shower cubicle and a full size bath.... More

We stayed at the Old Rectory for four nights in December 2014. We loved everything about the hotel. We also loved Norwich. The hotel is ideally located for those who like to combine a semi-rural location with easy access to the city of Norwich. There is an excellent bus service with a stop just 5 minutes walk from the hotel.... More

The warm welcome commenced immediately upon arrival, Chris showing us to our room, explaining everything including the code for the excellent Wi-Fi, about dinner and breakfast and how to get to Norwich without taking the car. Our room in the coachouse was excellent as was the bathroom with a separate rain shower and bath. An aperitif before dinner in the... More
