We booked this as a convenient overnight stopover on our way to N Wales. Easy to find, but the car park was unlit and the place deserted despite arriving at the time noted on our booking form (9.00pm). Our room key was left at the reception desk. The room was warm and reasonably clean, but we found the dirty, wet... More

A group of us stayed here for 2 nights on the 3rd & 4th of November. Found it really easy to find. Gareth, the new manager, greeted us on arrival at 6 o'clock. All our rooms were clean and warm and we had a good fry up in the morning. Lovely views of the Welsh hills when I opened the... More

Have stayed here previously and it still seems deserted. Nobody in reception on arrival but had to phone to get the keys. Otherwise absolutely fine. Good breakfast and clean and tidy. Seems to be unmanned other than breakfast time. Ok for three men but probably not ideal if you were a single woman.

It was college-visit weekend in Aberystwyth so we couldn't find much in the city but found this place not too far away and it was just fine. It's within walking distance of a pub where we had a good dinner [not much else in the area though] and the views of rolling hills were quite fine. Breakfast was the usual... More

Not easy to find. On arrival no one at reception or in the hotel. Initial impression not bad but quite shabby and neglected. Piles of rubble in several places with broken down buildings and old appliances abandoned in the grounds. Quite scruffy really. Not at all like the images portrayed in their ads. A number of room keys had been... More

Whilst the hosts were very pleasant and friendly, the rest of the hotel left a lot to be desired. The rooms were very dated and not very clean. The showers were very poor (No baths) and did not run hot, one shower head was held on by insulating tape. The toilet did not flush correctly in one of the rooms,... More

For us, this guesthouse had two key features at made it perfect for us at the time: it was very close to my sister's house so that we could be on-call to help with a new baby if needed; and they take dogs, so we could bring our retriever with us. The decor is a little tired and the arrangement... More

The fact that some letters from the name of the guest house had fallen off the side of the building (can be seen from the mail road) did make us wonder what we we going to. Person who greeted us was in his 'working' clothes and moaned that he had had a busty day cleaning and was still cleaning rooms.... More

On arrival at this deserted place a tatty notice told us to call another hotel, which we did by going back to the main road to get a signal ,as there was no guest phone and the intercom was rusted! We were told the manager was"out the back". He seemed pleasant enough when he arrived, the room appeared clean the... More

We had stayed here the year before and it was fine, on this occasion there was nobody there to greet us, we had to call their sister hotel and help ourselves to our rooms, not sure what's going on with the management, which is a shame as it's a nice hotel in a good location. The room was fine apart... More
