Sooo, my family and I just got back from the Allegheny Springs at Snowshoe. We were excited to be staying in the village having stayed at Silver Creek (1 mile away from the village) 2 years ago. I've stayed at Intrawest properties before and they've always been first rate so my expectations were high. Upon arrival, my expectations were rewarded... More

My family and I went in early 2010 back to the same place we went years ago and stayed in Unit #134. We chose this unit because we've been in it a few times and a couple others during summer or winter. It seems to provide more then others and is decorated enough to make it homey and warm. Since... I've been attending a business conference at Snowshoe for the last four years and have been staying at different Village properties each time. Several co-workers have stayed at Allegheny Springs on previous visits & said good things about it, so I decided this was the year to check it out for myself. Had a very nice junior studio (#314) overlooking... More

Perhaps the room is great in winter. In the heat of July, it was too hot, then too cold, then too hot, etc. The refrigerator in the room was LOUD. The pillows were brick-like. When the alarm went off (not set by us!) at 5:15 a.m., it was the final straw. Don't take too many hang-up clothes -- the closet... More

I decided to treat my son to a trip to snowshoe for his spring break from college. We both love to ski, but I didn't want to spend the $$$ to fly to Colorado so we decided to visit Snowshoe, WV for the first time. I booked a 1 bedroom plus at Allegheny Springs, which included two 2-day lift tickets... More

We recently spent a 3 day weekend at Allegheny Springs in Snowshoe, West Virginia. It was perfect weather for skiing. The trip up the mountain was breathtaking! We arrived a couple hours prior to checkout, but our room was ready nonetheless. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. When we arrived to our room, we were astounded by the... More

Ditto on just about everything that has been said except that our room was pretty clean. The location is great but that's about it. There is nothing special about this property. We stayed in a three bedroom unit. Each bedroom has one VERY uncomfortable double bed. The village is nice and the skiing is great. We'll go again, but pick... More

Allegheny has a lot of plusses and a few minuses. It is ski in and out, and you get your own ski lockers underneath. It has pools, and is walking distance to the grocery store and the good shops. Has an Asian restaurant, Taste of Asia, that is pretty good in the basement. We had a great view on the... More

Dirty rooms - hair on the sink in the bathrooms when we checked in. Really cheap bedding and terrible pillows...(thank god I brought everything of my own). Terrible housekeeping - they only throw away trash and pick up dirty towels .... Staff not so friendly but ok...Locals are not friendly at all....very strange since this is their full time job.... This is my second stay at Allegheny Springs and probably my last. I've been devoted to Snowshoe Mountain for over 20 years. And have stayed at almost all of the properties. Allegheny Springs is platinum rated and considered to be the best service/amenities of all the properties. The skiing is the best in the east. But this last trip was... More
