All I can say is don't expect ANYTHING special. The owner is rude and customer service is just as bad. The food was awful. Go to New Martinsville and stay at the Amerihost Inn and eat at Quinet's. Now, that's what you call home cooked good old fashion food. The Well's Inn when I was younger was the IT place... More

Another review from you? Seriously? We remember your group. Including going into areas that are currently not open to the public. The nasty personal comments are uncalled for and I think any reasonable person would see them as more of a reflection upon you than us. Which part of we are undergoing a heavy renovation did you have a problem... More

It is very upsetting to see what "could be" in terms of a truly unique experience, and what actuallly "is." This is a wonderful old building that needs ownership with some actual vision, taste and money. The current ownership apparently has none of the above, and they also have no idea on how to run a hotel either. With some... More

It is easy to make snide comments about other peoples’ businesses, isn’t it? I understand and at one point I used to do the same thing. And then we bought the hotel, fixed the damage caused when the former owner abandoned the property, and reopened it. I am sorry we did not meet your expectations and I do appreciate your... More

Called to see if they had any rooms on short notice for a family member. Person that answered phone didn't give name when answering. Told me he had a room but would only hold it for 45 mins. He didn't want my credit card number or anything when I asked. He stated he had to go because he had another... More

Yes, I probably came across as abrupt, and for that I apologize. I agreed to hold a room without the usual credit card (something I will not normally do) as I was also checking people into the hotel and cashing people out of the restaurant when you called. I agreed to hold literally the last hotel room in the region... More

While we did find things that detracted slightly from our stay (some black caulking looked like mold, but wasn't), and did find things that were a little odd (no light switch to turn off the bathroom light), overall we were pleasantly surprised at the old-world charm and great rate at this unusual hotel. We slept fine, with no signs of... More

The wells in is a historic hotel, they have many antiques and historic items that are cool to look at. I like the breakfast, it's usually nice and warm and the biscuits are really good. The owners and managers are really nice people and they will make you laugh when having a conversation with them. The rooms were decent, and... More

Stopped through on my way to do a ghost tour at the Moundsville Prison with a friend. I didn't stay the night but I was able to get a tour. The building is lovely & well kept. The staff are hands down the most friendly I have ever come across in any hotel/restaurant. Ate dinner in at their on site... More

We went to Sistersville to see a performance at the Gaslight Theater and stayed overnight at the Wells Inn. The Wells Inn, located across the street from the Gaslight is an old historic hotel, which is in the process of being renovated. The rooms are small, but clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The rooms are very reasonably priced... More

This was our second stay at the Wells Inn. The first time was ten years ago and the hotel was under different management. It was not a pleasant stay but we decided to try once more this year since the hotel is under new management and being renovated once again. Another BIG MISTAKE! Upon entering the “historic” Wells Inn, the... More

We live in the area, so we haven't taken the opportunity to spend the night at the Wells Inn. We do, however, eat dinner at the Wells Inn on many Friday nights. The meals are always delicious, and prices are reasonable. There are great dinner specials nearly every night, or order from the menu. If you don't see something that... More

Our first time here, having to attend a funeral. All the rooms at hotels in closeby cities booked with construction workers installing pipelines. Found the Wells Inn by accident and it was near the funeral home. Signs said they are in process of remodeling and rooms were available. Took a room, sight unseen, and found it a conglomeration of old,... More
