We spent 3 nights here over the July 4th weekend. Roanoke, West VA is about 50 minutes drive south of Morgantown. The drive was beautiful either coming from the northwest or east of it. I was surprised with the many water activities complimentary (anything that is not motorized). It sits on the 2nd largest lake in West VA that meanders... more

I have never written a letter like this and probably never will again but our stay at Stonewall Jackson Resort was such a disappointment I had to vent. My husband and I made a reservation for two at Stonewall Jackson last January for a mid May overnight. We are serious motorcyclists and West Virginia State Parks are the best! All... more

I recently attended a wedding at the Stonewall Resort and left for the most part impressed. We decided to go ahead and book a room at the resort to avoid any DUIs after celebrating a friend's wedding. Got a rate of $127.99 online which ended up being a little over $150 after taxes and a "resort fee" was added. We... more

The accomodations at Stonewall Resort leave a great deal to be desired. How this place qualifies for AAA four diamond status is a true mystery for my wife and I, and has left us quite distrusting of the AAA rankings. We stayed at a two diamond rated Hampton Inn and Suites in the Columbus, OH area the weekend after our... more

My best friend and I stayed at Stonewall Resort from Friday, February 27, 2009 to Sunday, March 1, 2009 for a girlfriends’ getaway. We booked the “Bedlam in the Asylum” package using their website and added an extra night. The package included tickets to the murder-mystery dinner event on Saturday night. I received multiple emails confirming the reservation and providing... more

My husband wanted a quiet weekend away, before the arrival of our first child. We were met by very friendly check in staff. They notified us to make a reservation for breakfast the next morning. Something they forgot to do the last time we were there. Shortly after we arrived we went to dinner at Stillwaters. We were expecting a... more

Stayed here for two days in October and while it looks nice and is clean, I feel the staff could have been more attentive. When we arrived, no bellhop came to assist although they were in the lobby. The person checking us in mentioned a restaurant (Lightburns) on the hill that we had to walk to although a sign in... more

I stayed here 1 night for a business conference. The grounds and surroundings were very nice. The man-made lake was peaceful and is surrounded by wooded forest of the state park. The room was nicely sized and the king bed was very comfortable. The room also contained a sofa, working table with 2 chairs, coffee maker, hair dryer, and TV... more

I just returned from a visit to Stonewall for the weekend. We rented a lakeside cottage, which was very nice and clean. If you like the outdoors, but do not like camping, etc., then I highly recommend staying in the cottages. We rented a boat, which is a must if you ask me. The lake is huge - and the... more

I stayed here with my family for a conference. First, I called in advance and asked for an early (1 pm) check in as I was going to be giving a talk at 130pm and wanted to freshen up. The front desk clerk was curt (and that's a kind way to say it) told me check in was 4, but... more
