We were on our way home from NC, headed back to Michigan. We were behind a semi and it dropped a large piece of metal off the back and we hit it. It ripped a hole in our oil pan and radiator. We were stranded. The wrecker came and got us and told us of a hotel that would give... More

We were getting a bit desperate to find somewhere for an overnight stay on a trip from England visiting family in New York and Indiana. WV wasn't an obvious route but we love mountains and were curious about a state that people seem to associate with the film 'Deliverance' Pretty horrified at the cost of the Hotel Inn we tried... This was a decent place to stay for a one night trip. The place is a bit dated, but the beds and bathroom were clean and comfortable which is the most important factor to me. The complimentary breakfast was also good with a fair selection of foods. The biggest drawback was that the bathroom area including the shower and vanity... More

This is my favorite family owned hotel. Always clean , good mattresses , fridge ,an right off the highway. I've stayed here for about the last 7 years 2-3 times a year. While riding motorcycles in W.V. I stop by here an fan out off on route 33 , an head toward Canaan Valley. The staff will give you a... More

It was nice that there was a bar/restaurant attached to the hotel where we enjoyed a light meal and drinks. The staff was really friendly and helpful. They do need to replace the beds which are very low to the floor with skinny mattresses, but if you're tired, you probably won't care. We didn't get a chance to enjoy their... More

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years, often in connection with Ripley's 4th of July celebration and the accompanying Arts & Crafts Festival. In contrast to past visits, we sensed the disconcerting presence of a cost-cutting management consultant, without a corresponding cut in price. As such, I must now rate McCoy's as only an average value.... More

Previous reviews of the place said there were bed bugs--none; skinny mattresses--not true; noisy hallways--true; Johnny Mac's on site--extremely pricy and slow service, bar-like atmosphere; courtyard was beautiful with the pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast--okay, nothing spectacular. Problems--noisy; musty, wet smell in rooms and hallways; smoking rooms are next to or across from non-smoking rooms, so you could smell the smoke... More

Was hesitant to stay at a hotel that we had never heard of, but the moment you walk in the door, you were greeted by amazing decor in the lobby. Room was handy to lobby; however a little out-dated. Went to the courtyard and, I must say, it is the most beautiful area I have seen at a hotel. Staff... More

Very Disapointed, I booked my daughter a room for 3 nights as she lived in Va and I also booked a room for saturday just for one night. My son attended project graduation and knew I had booked a room saturday so right after project graduation ended he was to tired to drive home and figured it would be safer... More
