We stayed at the Mountain Creek Lodge at the bottom of the gorge, 1000+ feet from the rim on the Bluestone River, for 3 nights. This was a very unique and memorable experience. The tram ride up and down was a big part of the fun of staying here and I recommend it to those looking to get away from... More

We stayed in a cabin for two nights and in the lodge for another two nights. We were not disappointed with the price at all. The cabin price was reduced and the lodge was half off, since it was still their off season. The cabin was nestled in the back of the group, so we had more peace and less... More

Was at the McKeever Lodge for two nights for a family reunion. Plenty to do at Park, great small towns to visit. However, the cook needs to be let go!! The food was terrible and overpriced!!! Either the food had no taste or it was over seasoned that you couldn't eat it. I had the breakfast buffet one morning and... More

Stayed at McKeever Lodge for two nights for a family event (parents/grandparents are from WV). Beautiful views. Nice property in terms of land, trails, other "outside" stuff. The hotel, however, leaves much to be desired. I have rated it average, but that is generous. It is not poor either. Somewhere in between. It is old. Very old. It needs extensive... More

We rented a two bedroom cabin which had beautiful wood floors and ceilings. The kitchen and living room was nicely appointed. One bedroom contained a queen bed and the other two single beds. A lovely fireplace is also usable.

We stayed at Mountain Creek Lodge which is only accessible by using the tram. The tram ride is fun and you see great views of the mountains surrounding the park. Once you arrive at the lodge it is quiet and peaceful since it is so secluded. The Bluestone River flows right by the front of the lodge which is beautiful and... More

We got a weekend package of room and meals Friday evening through Sunday breakfast. The Friday buffet was excellent! The other meals were fine too. We were with a group of Square Dancers, so our time was packed with our own entertainment. Got in some hiking on very well maintained trails before the snow came and created a spectacular mountain... We travel a lot for archery competitions. Pipestem was one of our stops. The resort was nice, but it was the view that was breathtaking. The walls in the lodge were a little thin, so you could hear the people in the room next to you if they were watching TV too loudly. But other than that, it was a... More

Our room at McKeever Lodge had a view of the gorge (which one needs to request) and only cost about $55/night. There was no real advantage to getting the reservation through a travel website; it was just as economical to go through their own website, www.pipestemresort.com. Of course many of the trees are bare when we went around the Thanksgiving... More

This lodge is in a beautiful location and is a beautiful place itself. We stayed here for a class and enjoyed the amenities. The restaurant food was sub-par although an outside company runs that and is not under control of the state. We did not get to enjoy the pool but it was large. Do watch for the abundant wildlife...
