Gorgeous views. Peaceful surroundings. Excellent food and service . Tree decorating cocoa and cookies. Family games and movie night. Swimming, trail rides, arcade, nature hikes. Too many numerous things to name. Great couple of days!

My husband and I had never stayed at Pipestem before, but my cousin had and loved it. So the 3 of us made the trip in October, when the leaves were at their peak. We had 2 adjoining rooms in McKeever Lodge, paying a little extra to have the view of the gorge. The rooms were very nice, beds comfy,... More

Stayed in Pipestem McKeever Lodge one night as opposed to a chain hotel closer to I-77. Very scenic and quiet but the facility was dated. Probably would have enjoyed the facility more so if this was for a vacation and I was to use all the recreational facilities. But it was simply trying something different for a business over-nighter. Asked... More

I had a retreat through an organization I am on the board of directors for. I was able to bring my family as well. They let us check in early so that my husband and children had a place to go during my trainings. Our room had the most beautiful view from the 7th floor. My husband and the kids... More

We stayed in a 2 person cabin for a couples weekend. It was nice and quiet. We used the free pool and ate once at the restaurant. There is usually some sort of event weekend going on and this weekend there were line dancers practicing their moves. We didn't get involved in any of the extra activities, just enjoyed each... Planned for 2 years to meet at Pipestem for a family reunion July 2014 -- we came from MD, LA, NC, VA, WA. We rented 3 cabins, one of which was the h/c cabin, the cabins were ok. They were clean and functional -- beds were extremely uncomfortable. Kitchens were stocked but lacked some necessities and not all the burners... More

We have just spent an entire week at Pipestem State Park Resort. We rented cabin 16, a two bedroom model. When we arrived we found the cottage clean and well stocked with linens and chopped wood for the fireplace. This is the second year we have stayed in a cottage and we just love it. The views from Pipestem are... More

Go back in time to the 70's design and decor. Rusted door frames on the pool locker rooms doors. Ghost town feel to the lodge and cabins in the valley. We had a over priced meal at the gourmet dining room in the valley. Friendly wait staff could not make up for the meal and view of the creek for... More

This is a very attractive and clean lodge. We were lucky enough to receive a mountain veiw room, as a walk in on a Friday. However, as far as the room goes, we paid for the view more than the comfort of the room. We had a queen/double room, small, with a small tight bathroom. The bed wasn't very comfortable.... More

Here is a summation of what to expect from Pipestem from one who has visited multiple times and experienced most of what Pipestem has to offer: Where to eat: Bluestone Dining Room: Food is adequate but very cafeteria like. Sandwiches are best bet. Mulligans: good club sandwiches - hot dogs, burgers, chicken but a bit pricey for quality. Canyon Rim... More
