We were going to be in Sistersville for the Marble Festival and booked a room at this lovely B&B. Joan, the owner was very friendly and personable. The B&B was decorated nicely with a large living room, dining room and study to use if you like. We were in the Chestnut Room; which was roomy, comfortable and very clean. The... More

We needed lodging in the New Martinsville area for the second night of a three day motorcycle trip. I called and spoke to Joan Adkins, the owner of the Magnolia House, and she graciously offered to not only put us up, but she even pulled her SUV out of the garage and allowed us to store the four bikes there... What an amazing B&B. It's beautiful and the owner treats you like family! Will stay here every time I'm in town! They offer to carry your luggage to the room and always have plenty of food and coffee in the morning!

This is one of the best bed and breakfasts we've visited. The first thing that struck us was that Joan, the innkeeper, really knows how to run an inn and make people feel special and welcome. The hospitality was exceptional. There was an abundance of snacks available 24/7 in the butler's pantry. Joan even made us an apple tart for... More

We were in town for a family matter. Joan the owner of the Magnolia house helped to make our stay very pleasant. Besides owning a beautiful house, she's made into a very welcoming home. Joan was very helpful in pointing us to some wonderful restaurants in the area. She also accommodated our dietary needs for breakfast. The house as stated... More

I had to come to Wheeling for a couple of days for business at the last minute, and the hotels up there wanted $200+ a night- I found their B&B and was I impressed! Even if you have to go to Wheeling- this is the place to stay- cross the bridge to the Ohio side and go up route 7... More

In a town with poorly run motels, with a lot of oil workers, the Magnolia House Bed & Breakfast is a very welcome exception. Right in the residential part of town you feel comfortable, clean, and welcome. If it hadn't be for the undersized (for men) toilet, I'd have given them a full five stars. And they are working on... We never dreamed we would find a B&B of this calibur in New Martinsville, WV. The house is beautifully decorated with period furnishings throughout. We stayed in the Magnolia Room with private bath; both were huge. The room was lovely, beautifully decorated, nice quality bed linens and had an adjoining morning room with small frig, microwave, glassware and dishes. We... More
