The Inn at Mountain Quest is a treasure and could be a destination all by itself. The accommodations are lovely and the proprietors even more so. The property and the rooms are cleaner and better appointed than most four star hotels we've stayed at and without the pretense and formality. We were in Monterey, VA for the Maple Festival and... I stayed at the inn when my semi truck broke down, fortunately there was room. It is off the beaten path but what a place to relax and get away from the busy everyday world we live in. I stayed in the oriental room and it is beautiful and fresh feeling. David and Alex are wonderful hosts, so interesting. Andy... More

My husband and I returned for our second annual visit to this charming B&B the middle of October. The farm house and rooms are indeed unique. The hosts share many collections throughout their inn from their world travels and their varied interests. The two story library which is part of the Virginia Library system is home to over 26,000 books.... More

Pros: Gorgeous location in the Appalachians, clean and well-maintained facility on a farm with horses and llamas; comfortable beds; fabulous library for reading and relaxing, with books, movies, big TV (in another room), pool table; friendly staff (David the owner); hearty but plain breakfasts cooked to order. Pro/Con: as mentioned by others, there is no cell phone service and no... More

You will be find the location and premises very lovely. The rooms are themed and have many interesting items in them. The owners are well educated individuals who have a library that is part of the West Virginia public library system. You have to see it to believe it. They have two llamas, and lots of land to hike through.... More

My husband and I came to the Inn at Mountain Quest for a weekend getaway. We loved that we didn't have cell service at the Inn- it was nice to just get off the grid for a while. We stayed in the Safari room and thought the theming was awesome. Each room has its own private bathroom and separate outside... More

Had dinner here this evening and the food was EXCELLENT! Toured the property and seriously could lose myself here for years. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up. At the risk of losing a quiet piece of paradise, I have to tell you that this place is top notch.

Just spent one night as we were passing thru. A very interesting place to explore! There is something for everyone here....movies, books galore (thousands!), farm animals, puppets, trails, scenery, etc. breakfast was great. Will have to return with the kids next time.

What an unbelievable unique retreat just over the border in West Virginia. This idyllic getaway is nestled in the valley at Frost, West Virginia. You might say it is a working horse farm; it's certainly not your typical country retreat. Besides the unique ambiance of each lodging room, you have an immense library of over 20,000 works and a grand... More
