We had the opportunity to go to Guesthouse Lost River at the last moment and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Arrived a little early and our room was all ready for us. Immaculately clean in every way. Relaxed and sat by the pool all afternoon long, great drinks, sun and views of the mountains. Would recommend getting a room in the main... More

What a fantastic and unexpected place. In the middle of nowhere (and that's part of the charm) is this gay-owned place with wonderful views, a pool, hot tub and great food. Gary and Jesse are wonderful hosts who really love the area and can help with activiities. For city slickers like us, the horseback riding was great. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED John... More

We were so lucky to have found the Guesthouse for a wedding venue. On our first visit, we were amazed at how the rustic elegance of the Guesthouse complements its astonishing mountain surroundings perfectly. More importantly, Gary and Jesse are consummate hosts, with a seemingly boundless commitment to hospitality. In addition to delivering exquisite meals, introducing us to local vendors,... More

When I told friends that I was going to stay at the Guesthouse Lost River they were shocked that I had not heard of it before. How did I not know about this place? The Guesthouse is only a few hours from DC but seems worlds away. I checked in on Thursday and immediately felt relaxed. The owners Jesse and... More

I've visited a few times over the years and brought my partner with me this last visit for his first time. We had a glorious weekend. It's a beautiful lodge with comfortable rooms and the friendliest staff. Gary, Jesse and the team make you feel at home, relaxed, and part of the community for your visit. The pool area is... More

This place is a hidden gem just over the Virginia line in Lost River WV. The owners, Gary and Jesse make you feel like you at a guest in their home rather than a lodger. The property is nicely appointed and very clean. The restaurant offers a nice variety and everything we tried was delicious. We didn't actually spend the... More

Thank you so much to Jesse and Gary for the wonderful stay. It is refreshing to stay at an establishment where you actually get to meet the people who own and run it. Gary and Jesse make it like one big family retreat. Another plus is that every staff member we met had a smile and sincere greeting. The breakfast... More

Jesse and Gary, the inn keepers/owners were very welcoming right from the start. The property is clean and well kept. The room that my boyfriend and I stayed in was very nice as was the pool area and the large recreational areas. The rec areas have a pool table as well as comfortable seating and all is decorated in a... More

The Guesthouse Lost River is hands down the finest example of hospitality that I have ever had the pleasure to experience. The grounds are beautiful, the decor is stunning, the pool area is welcoming and relaxing, and the food is delicious. The hosts are warm and charming and make everyone feel welcome. My partner and I had a wonderful stay at the Guest House. It's a beautiful and unique property perched on the side of a mountain, overlooking the gorgeous WVA countryside. It's wonderful because it's quiet and remote, but full of warm and friendly people, good food, and all the conveniences for a very comfortable stay. We highly recommend it.
