My wife and I had a super enjoyable night at General Lewis Inn. The evening receptionist - Walker - who too my reservation via telephone the day before also checked us in. Based on Trip Advsior reviews, I requested 2nd floor room. and it was fulfilled. The room was lovely. My wife loved it. Queen bed, couch, desk, tub, really... More

This hotel was where my parents stayed when they came to visited me when I was at Greenbrier Military School in the early 60's. It still has the same charm (and an alleged ghost) as it did back then, and it has maintained the integrity of history.

I recently spend two night at the General Lewis Inn. The Inn itself is quite pretty, as is Lewisburg. It is located a short walk from the historic downtown which is full of lots of interesting shops and restaurants. My stay at the Inn was pretty good, but a few things could have made it a "five-star" experience. I traveled... More

while traveling back to our hometown of Huntington, my husband and I along with our 2 young daughters decided to find a room to stay in along the way. My husband, having fond memories of the place as a child, thought this place might be a good stop. We called about 6pm and reserved a room as we thought we... More

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We appreciate all feedback, even when it's negative. I feel as though it is important to note that I was involved in all facets of this reservation. The reservation was taken at 3:00 pm (time stamped in our computer system), and the party was informed that due to our reservation... More

My wife and I stayed here recently and we found the staff was exceptionally nice and knowledgable about the town and activities that you can do.The General Lewis is also in a good location at the end of the main strip of downtown Lewisburg and that puts you within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. We also liked... More

I have stayed here before, but it's been years. in my younger days, I didn't notice the worn carpet and noisy heaters, but now I sure did! The breakfast is top notch though. and the bed was comfortable. this place is somewhere between a B & B and a small hotel. has some charms, and certainly not the cookie-cutter type... More

The General Lewis Inn is a quaint, charming and refreshing experience. It is all that it claims -- a quiet and historic Inn, with excellent rooms, superb food and outstanding service. Go, have fun, shop, and spend some quiet time together. You will love it!

This inn in the heart of the main drag in Lewisburg, WVa is a very special hide-a-way. Simple but special..a small dining room with "southern" specialities, thoughtful and knowledgeable servers, small simple rooms AND in walking distance of several lovely shops and restaurants.

The General Lewis is our favorite place in Lewisburg. Antique furniture, rugs, pictures, and memorabilia add to the gracious and authentic atmosphere. The restaurant serves delicious food - brunch is especially good. Rooms are all furnished with period pieces - the opposite of the generic hotel room with identical decor, beds, and granite counter in bath. Bathrooms in some rooms... More

If you are looking for a cookie-cutter run-of-the-mill, modern, boring hotel then the General Lewis Inn is probably not for you. But if you are looking for a wonderful, unique dining and lodging experience then this is the place. True - there is no elevator and you will have to lug your bags up to the second floor rooms. I...
