Our group has visited the Zambezi River for many years, and Sekoma Island scored the best of any other lodge. Whilst not in the exclusive category, everything about Sekoma was great. Accommodation is 2 to a room, as is fishing, 2 to a boat. Service is friendly, helpful and prompt. The food was above par for a fishing lodge. The... More

The accommodation is in semi permanent tents that have a bathroom attached - very comfortable. Service was genuinely outstanding- staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. Travel time by road from Livingstone is about an hour. Activities include Tiger fishing and game viewing from boats. The island had regular visits form elephants and hippo and there are... More

There are two main routes to get to Sekoma Island. The easiest is to fly into Livingstone and take the 90 minute transfer to the island, or you can fly to Kasane on SA Express and come through Kazungula from Botswana into Zambia, then take the transfer for about 40 minutes to the island. Once you reach the Mambova village,... More

Just spent an awesome week of tiger fishing on the Zambezi River at Ilombe Island Lodge, part of Sekoma. All the staff were amazing, helpful and friendly. The chef cooked up an unforgettable Ox-tail stew which I will talk about for a long time!! Facilities were comfortable for the "boys" fishing trip, Sekoma is more for the family trip but... More

The lodge is in a great location with wonderful staff and awesome fishing. It was my first trip up to the Zambezi and I enjoyed every minute of it. The birdlife is also very impressive and the lodge has a very relaxed atmosphere. There is nothing quite like having a cold beverage at the lodge watching elephants across the river... More

We flew into Livingstone from Johannesburg- and from the moment we were met at the airport I knew this was going to be special. The trip down to the water is quick, so there was no long delay in getting into the vibe- and 3 hours after departing from JhB we were on the water! The staff are the friendliest,... More
