My husband and I stayed here for the 4th of July. We stayed at Pinecrest cottage and played two rounds of golf. The cottage had a living room, full kitchen, 1 bedroom, bathroom with whirlpool tub, flat screen TV in the living room and a deck. We loved the cottage. It was neat and located in a quiet area. The... More

This place could only be called a resort if you've just been released from prison. Charmless rooms with old furniture which looked like they were bought for a halfway house for recovering Meth addicts. The Woods is so depressing that I could guaranteed that most likely a recovering addict would head straight back to the pipe. The spa, (really this... More

Our family rented two cabins for a get together after New Year's. Each cabin has a living room with gas fireplace, dining area, kitchen, four bedrooms and each bedroom (ours had twin beds in each room) has its own bathroom. Our cabin was pet friendly. The staff was very accommodating and made one bathroom handicapped accessible for my 90 year... More

stayed on sylvan lake , house was great, golf courses were fantastic, and the spa and other facilities ( tennis courts, gym, swimming pool ,etc) were awesome. Had a great time !!! Close enough to go out to eat or shopping (if needed). We had 8 people , indoor tennis court was used on a rainy day, home had games, pool... More

Our pet-friendly room was quite large; it had plenty of space for the absent comfortable seating (only one chair with ottoman). After traveling over 6000 miles in the last month and staying in plenty of hotels, we were stunned at how loud the air-conditioner was. It was impossible to have a phone conversation with the air or the fan on.... More

Dear LadyCrisp, Thank you for staying at The Woods. We recently converted a few rooms to be pet friendly. All of these rooms are located in one section. We appreciate your comments and in the future we will allow more space between the pet friendly rooms when possible. I have made the appropriate managers aware of your other concerns so... More

We were excited to stay at The Woods with the great reviews and wonderful sounding amenities. For the price though, we found resorts like Kingsmill in Williamsburg to be much nicer. The grounds were nice, but didn't have the flowering trees or flowers you would expect at a resort. Amenities were okay, we used the tennis courts and pool, but... More

Thank you for staying with us. I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations. The Woods is a place to retreat from the traffic and congestion of the city. It is a place where our guests can fall asleep to the sounds of crickets and the wind rusting through the branches of nearby trees and then wake up... More

The Woods has many types of accomodations, but for our group of 8 women, we chose a Meadow Cottage. There are 6 of these on site in a small cul-de-sac on the expansive property. There were 4 bedrooms, each with 2 twin beds and bath, a great room with fireplace, eating area, AC, full kitchen and covered front porch with... More

If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to go. It was isolated, calm, and very low-key. There was adequate hiking, although by day 4 we ran out of local hikes. In inclement weather, you could use the Sports Complex, which includes pool, hot tub, fitness room, tennis, shuffleboard, and racquetball. It would have been... More

Do yourself a favor and check this place out. It is outside Berkeley Springs WV. It is on the grounds of a 'resort.' We rented a cabin for a week and I had a couple of treatments at the spa. Well worth it. Best reflexology ever!

The Fall Classic is an annual golf event (Ryder Cup Format) that 8 guys play each year. Our host has a mountain home at The Woods and therefore it is very convenient for a number of us to stay in the Evergreen Cottages. The price is great, the rooms are deluxe and the location is wonderful. We play the final day... More
