Stayed overnight just wished we could have stopped for longer. We booked into a lodge overlooking the lake with a deck and seating. The room was large clean and had fridge, tea, coffee. Bed very comfortable and shower hot. Had a lovely walk by the lake then ate in the on site restaurant which was good nice selection reasonably priced... More

One of us rented a cabin for a weekend of unwinding between two week-long events. A lovely experience, surrounded by trees dressed in fall colors, with a view through the branches down to the lake. The cabin was clean and well-appointed with a kitchenette, adequate heating and a decent-sized bathroom. The fireplace drew well, and had both kindling and firewood.... More

My first encounter at Tygart Lodge was with the front desk staff who informed me I owed $112? The way the comment was delivered was comical, I told him my name and the first thing he said as he looked up was “you owe us $112”, my response was “ok, I can take care of that now”. The clerk did... More

Beautiful place to visit. Wish I had brought my boat! Want to go back again. Friendly fox in the parking lot that the desk and DEC people were feeding! The fox would walk right up to within 5 feet of us!! Rooms had high ceilings that added breathing room and a beautiful view of the Lake.

The wife and I, along with another couple, normally spend one weekend every fall at Tygart lake. While I would not call the accommodations beautiful, I can state without a doubt we have always had very clean rooms, hot water and spectacular views. Like most WV state parks, it is not close to the interstate, but the drive (especially in... More

We have stayed here before and did so again because it is clean, and offers a great view of the lake. It needs updating to bring it up to a higher standard. The staff could have been friendlier. The restaurant is excellent with a terrific selection and great staff. Live music the night we were there.

Stayed at Tygart Lake Lodge in one of the 3 bedroom cabins. The cabin was nice. The beds were very comfy. The cabins are well stocked. Didn't get to see much of the lake since we were gone most of the time, but what I did see was really pretty. Only complaint, its not easy to get to. A lot... More

Tygart Lake State Park is a beautiful park to wake up to, though the GPS had a hard time pinpointing it. We finally had to call the park itself and have them direct us there. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and without them, I'm not sure we would have found the park. The room was really nice, and... More

Was here several years ago, but only passing nearby for one night this time. A little hard to find and quite crowded for early April, but still a real joy! Rooms are very high-quality, spotless and with nice touches, such as actual creamers and Splenda for coffee. Only negative is that they still haven't installed fridges in the rooms. Had... More

I just got back from a 3-night stay in one of the pet-friendly cabins and can't say enough about this place! The cabin has a porch and a wood-burning fireplace with a cord of wood stacked right outside. The view of the lake was gorgeous. The cabins are very remote -- a little bit of a drive into the woods... More
