This motel is a disgusting run down filth hole.we are not prissy people. I am not sure what the other reviewers seen when they were here.this place is very old, thats not the issue. The sheets towels and bed spread are rags and probably 30 years old. They are ripped and worn out. The shower curtain was moldy. The air... More

I came through there around 9 at night and she gave me a choice of two rooms, one had a soft bed and the other had a bed that was a lot more comfortable. The tv was a round screen whirt a remote that would work the volume and up and down channels. The heater did not work to well... More

Motel is very clean. Rooms has two double beds, dresser mirror, desk, two chairs, nightstand and a tv with large selection of channels. Bathroom very nice and clean. Ample parking. Front unit with office, you must take stairs to get to second floor. The back unit has parking in the back for second floor so you don't have to take... More

Although I never saw it advertised, they do have free wi-fi! The rooms are right out of the 50's, very dated, however it was clean and I had nice hot water! Room rates were about 55/ night. Many of the rooms have a little patio or balcony. I was happy with my choice! They still have old fashioned metal keys

Good place to stop since there really isn't much else in this town to stay in. Clean rooms and friendly country staff. The bed was comfy so that was the most important thing, needs a little updating. There is a restaurant right in front that has a little bit of everything on the menu.

Stayed here for a softball game, I thought it was very nice. Contact the office if you're going to check in past 10pm because that's when they close, they can make arrangements for your key. The rooms were large for only $57, front and back doors! Pretty balcony. Nice little country restaurant called the Fireside Cafe with a little craft... More

Good stop when motorcycling through WV on a budget. In can be busy on the weekends during summer season so you may want to make a reservation during peak travel times. Family style eating / breakfast right next door.

We found this motel after traveling for awhile and not finding any town to stay in. It turned out to be a reminder of the motels we stayed in growing up in the 60's. Nothing fancy but clean and priced right. The management was extremely helpful and friendly. Very easy to get right back on the main road to get... More

My wife and I happened across Thompson's while doing some leaf-peeping in the WV mountains. We arrived at 8:30 at night, dog tired. The lady in the office was very pleasant when I checked in. I asked if there was a microwave in the room, since we had brought along a cooler of frozen dinners to eat. She said no,... More

The Thompson Hotel, is a good stay for the money, it's in a very pretty setting, the room was clean other than the carpet, but to be fair, many trout fisherman stay there & do not remove their waders before going in, but the rest of the room was clean. We loved sitting on the veranda. There is a excellent... More
