The website for this inn is about as deceptive as they get, and I would strongly recommend staying anywhere else than this place. The cost was over $100, and it was a nightmare! First off, the room we stayed in had no phone. Which doesn't really matter, because they have no services or concierge of any matter. The check-in took... more

My boyfriend and I decided to get away from the DC city life for the weekend and choose the mountains of West Virginia. We like to take our dog, Lhasa Apso, with us whenever we can and we found hotels that allowed pets, without an extra charge. This was the one we choose. Lets just say that whoever designed this... more

1. They forgot to mention the 4 lane highway that takes away from the view because of the noise. 2. We stayed in the cabins which where nothing more than a couple of detached motel rooms with a continental breakfast area. 3. Continental breakfast consisted of a muffin, small can of cranberry juice, and an apple. 4. No phone. 5.... more

Calling this place a lodge brings up an image that is really not accurate. This is a fairly budget accomodation that is perfectly nice and has a beautiful view of the West VA mountains. It is right over a 4 lane freeway, so you can hear some noise. It is not a superdeluxe kind of place, but is totally fine.... more

Wow! what a unbelievable place the food was as good as any place. I travel the North America and Europe. It is as close of a experience to fine dining I have had, The rooms are cozy and the attention given made us feel special. We look forward to our next visit. more

I stay here frequently and I only live an hour away! I've read some of the reviews and the one that they got canceled because the owner decided to stay at the last minute is so funny to me! Marty stays every night in the lodge to make sure his customers are happy. The owner happens to be the excellent... more

We were hoping to have a nice quiet weekend in the woods. However, that didn't happen. This lodge is in a very noisy location due to the proximity to the 4 lane highway. We stayed in the "cabins" which look wonderful on the internet. however, inside, they felt claustrophobic. The cabins are also not secure, as the master room can... more

I have been staying at The Lodge for about a month and it has been an awesome experience. The staff is wonderful from the maintenance person to the owner. They all have gone above and beyond to make me feel right at home. I am always asked if I would like my room serviced or if I need anything. The... more

After reading these reviews I just had to add my 2 cents because we found this place to be anything BUT bad. My fiance and I were looking for a place to stay for a couple of days on our way back from a trip to Virginia Beach and found them on the internet. Their web site is what drew... more

I have camped in the area with my family for 25 years. With two girls, ages 5 and 2, I decided that staying in a cabin was a better option. I was extremely excited to find there was a cancellation for one of the bungalows during the weekend of the Mountain State Forest Festival. I immediatley booked the bungalow and... more
