Three of the most important factors in accommodations for me are cleanliness, lack of odor and lack of noise. This state lodge has all three characteristics with a slight caveat - "slammers" - that's what we call hotel patrons who let their doors close with the loudest possible noise. But even the slammers couldn’t ruin our stay. As all the... More

The room and bathroom were extremely small. There was no hair dryer or iron and ironing board. The decor jumped right out of the 70's! We were comfortable though and enjoyed the views. The dining room was pleasant and the common area was cozy with a fireplace and TV.

This is not your big city four star hotel. It is a nice quiet place to stay in wonderful surroundings. Rooms are plain, squeaky clean, and very quiet. Had a great night's sleep. Furnishings are certainly adaquate and coffee is available downstairs when the restaurant is closed. Restaurant is plain with salad bar and non elegent but good menue selections.... More

The lodge & food are totally average. The *key* is to stay in one of the older cabins with the deer, foot paths & clear nights in order to watch the milky way float past. We've stayed in 5 of the older cabins & have some faves (not telling). Cross country and downhill are nearby, but sometimes it's awfully tempting... More

Just average !! The room was clean but the decor and hotel overall is very dated. No perks just a bed and an average dining room. There was no iron or hair dryer, take your own !! OK for a overnight stay, the park and the falls are beautiful..

Stayed with my husband and two kids (ages 6 & 9) on Thurs/Fri night of Labor Day Weekend. Far drive on windy roads to the lodge. Few people upon our arrival on Thurs night and we were the only ones at the on site restaurant . The food was average and they had run out of hot dogs. Best available... More

I would have rated the cabin excellent except for the few stains on the ceiling in the bathroom. Other than that the cabin was clean, included all linens and towels (no shampoo), pots, pans, saute pans, utensils, glasses and plates. If you do not want to cook at the cabin you can get dinner at the Lodge Restaurant. The fireplace... More

We spent two nights at the lodge and found it to be very comfortable if a bit outdated. Rooms are small and without the standard amenities such as coffee maker, hair dryers, mini fridge or microwave. There is, however, wifi and a nice flat-screen tv in each room. That said, it was exactly what we expected to find in this somewhat... More

Hotel needs updating. It was clean but out of date. Backwater falls is a nice site to see you can walk there on the trail. It's not for the handicap, because of the steps and rocks on the way. Dinning at the hotel was great.

But, other than that, it was a perfect place to stay. Restaurant with limited menu, but good, country, home cooking. Try the fried potatoes and gravy. Spend the extra few dollars for a canyon view room with balcony. It is amazing! Plus, there is a pool, exercise room and hot tub. Take the time to walk to the falls, it... More
