Stayed in room with balcony and nice view. The bed was comfortable the room was clean and had enough space so I didn't feel cramped. Room had frig and microwave. None of the ski activities were open due to weather. The decor is orange and red and green. Didn't much like the decor. Felt the price was a little high... More

We have stayed at the resort each October for the last four years. We have had a cabin for the last three years. We have always enjoyed our stay, but the cabins are badly in need of updating: Broken drapes, broken electrical outlets, broken light switches, no ice cube trays. A rollaway is stored in a bedroom and always in... More

My husband and I visited the resort with my parents in October 2014. We really enjoyed ourselves. The room was your average hotel room - microwave, mini-fridge, nice shower and amenities. The pool/spa area was great. The pool and hot tub have earth minerals in them, which was really nice. There's a sauna in the spa area as well. We... More

The room was nice, clean and warm with a nice view. But the pool area was kind of gross--stained crusty carpet, rusting bathroom fixtures, etc. But my biggest problem was with the restaurant: the steak was delicious, but everything else was no better than I could have gotten in a cheap diner. Besides, their menu states that they accommodate those... More

Room fairly expensive for the area. Breakfast was not included. While there was soap in the room, the hotel did not provide shampoo or anything but soap. Room was nice but the staff was not the friendliest. They could barely say hello when you said hello to them, and when dropping off the key they barely looked up to take... More

Just visited the resort for our 20th wedding anniversary and have mixed feelings about the hotel over all. The room was very nice, spacious and new, with microwave, fridge, pretty view, large bed and clean. The common areas are beautiful and new as well with pretty fireplace and gorgeous sitting areas. The personnel are very friendly and helpful, both at... More

This hotel is very new, a complete rebuild of the resort property. It is much larger than the old buildings, which look abandoned - don't know if they plan to demolish the or refurbish. But the two new buildings are very nice. Comfortable bed with very comfy pillows. The king bed room is larger than most hotel rooms, with a... More

I have been attending a conference at Canaan Resort yearly since the early 1980's. Until the recent renovation and rebuild, the lodge and bedrooms had gotten unconscionably snappy. Really awful. But they abandoned the old bedroom buildings and did a major rebuild and renovation, and now the place is beautiful. Large, lovely rooms, some with balconies. The lobby is beautiful.... More

We visited for the resort's annual wine weekend. This was our second year at the event. The renovated lodge and rooms are very well done and have an appropriate rustic flair. The staff is friendly and extremely accommodating. They go out of their way to make you feel very welcome and comfortable. The wine weekend itself was amazing. The Executive... More

Was looking for somewhere to stay over after hiking in the area and there aren't many options, so went with this, just for one night. Setting is lovely, in the Canaan Valley, up on a ridge. The recent renovations noted by others seem to have been done well. and it looks good in the setting. The rooms are great, I... More
