The West Virginia mountais are beautiful. We were looking for a long weekend getaway not too far from home. We have spent some time in West Virginia before and decided to try Canaan Valley Resort. The resort is in a lovely setting. We arrived way before the 5 PM check-in time and our room was not ready. My husband went... More

We spent a weekend at this resort and had a wonderful time, although the weather was overcast and it was often drizzling during our visit. We stayed in the lodge that was recently remodeled, and it was beautiful. The lobby area is welcoming, spacious and comfortably furnished. Our room was spacious and had all the accommodations you would expect. We... More

Outstandingly beautiful lodge, indoor/ outdoor attractions, good services and very friendly hospitality. Pools great. Food great. Family wagon ride great. Would be a fantastic hiking park EXCEPT that the trail signage was woefully inadequate!! As a result, we encountered cyclists on hiking only trails, a runner who knocked down a toddler plus several families who tryed to take the short... More

Excellent place to stay. Great food, great rooms , great view. Staff was very polite and helpful. Activities going on all the time. I'm glad to give it two thumbs up. Being a West Virginia State Park you can be sure it is going to be a very nice place.

........this place is one of West Virginia's best kept secret. The accommodations here are second to none. Rooms are fantastic, food Superb, and the crew that runs the place cannot do enough for you. My hat is off to general manager David, and his H/R manager for having the ability to hire such considerate personnel, especially at the front desk.... More

We were delighted to be upgraded to a king suite with a valley room! It was huge, and the view overlooking the pool and valley was lovely. (The only thing I would have changed was to add a bathroom - half-bath would be fine - on the living room/kitchen side. Having a door between the rooms was great, but the... More

We booked two nights in the newer part of the lodge and what an improvement from our last stay!! A King bed that was actually comfortable and a huge room! The bathroom was spotless and roomy. Warm colors make for a very inviting look. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good. We'll definitely be back!

I stayed at this resort for 3 days in July 2014. It is a beautiful building and my room was very nice. I had the buffet in the restaurant for 2 dinners and 3 breakfasts. Lots of nice choices BUT the hot food was not anywhere near hot. Cold hash browns or chicken is not appetizing. Also I came on... More

I hadn't been to Canaan for a couple of years and was overwhelmed with the beautiful new lodge rooms. The conference area and the rooms are wonderful, and now match the beautiful setting. We had a king room, which was huge. I just stayed at the Opryland hotel for a conference 2 weeks ago, and I have to say the... More

The course is a well groomed and scenic one! It is has long sloping fairways with great greens! The pro shop is very helpful and friendly. The pub style restaurant attached is very nice, offering delicious sandwiches made to order. We will be back!
