I read other Alpine Lodge reviews and I agree with some but not others. This place isn't cozy or cute. It is very dated. I was disappointed that the entranceways hadn't been cleared of snow and ice. But - it is clean and the shower had plenty of hot water. This is very basic lodging - sleep and shower and... More

I got more than I expected for the price, but this hotel still has room for improvement. It's clear that this property is far from new, the decor is very dated, but it's still clean, safe and in good repair. A few nicks and bumps but nothing major. As far as I could tell, the bed and bath linens were... More

We stayed here on a last minute trip to Canaan Valley. All the resorts were full so we stopped here to check on a room. The desk attendant was very friendly and told me they had vacancy for only $63.55 a night. I asked her if it was clean and warm, she assured me it was. Our room was on... More

This is the cutest little motel, tucked away on West Virginia! Everything about it was cozy and quiet. The room was adorable, the shower had tons of hot waster, the restaurant was delicious, everyone was super nice, the value was great, and they even allowed our two pups to stay there. I loved my stay here so much I didn't... More

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the room was super clean and well maintained. Decor is very dated, but I actually kind of liked the vintage 70's pink tile in the bathroom! And it's Tucker County, you have to expect things to be rustic. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel this same weekend last year and had a great expereince. However, when we stayed there again on 9/27 we had an entirely different experience. The rooms were the same as we experienced last year. They were clean and provide base level accomodations which is all that we expected for the price. However, at a little... More

My wife and I took a trip from Northern Virginia to visit Blackwater Falls, Canaan Valley, and Seneca Rocks. When looking for a hotel I came across Alpine Lodge. I called and left a message. My call was returned the next day and I made a reservation for arrival the following day. After speaking with my wife, we called and... More

Clean, comfortable beds, and the restaurant had delicious home cooked comfort food. Really an excellent value compared to other local lodging. It was only minutes away from Black Water Falls and maybe 10 miles or so from Canaan Valley.

Doesn't look like much from the outside. Showers are wonderful. Super hard pressure and plenty of HOT water. Sawmill restaurant, same senero, don't be so quick to judge. Salad bar isn't much. I got the west Virginia ham and it was fantastic (beans were ok). Overall, super good value for your $$$.

Clean rooms, could use some updates. It smelled a little musty. The reason for my stay was to visit with my family, so I really was only in there to sleep. Price wise was perfect, better than staying out at the lake. The food at the restaurant is wonderful, all homemade. I recommend the biscuits and gravy.
