On a road trip with destination New Orleans, we stopped in Charleston to catch some sleep. Found this hotel using Hotwire, and the hotel was just average. Location wise i cannot tell much as we were just passing by, and it was in an industrial area. The hotel itself showed several signs of wear and tear throughout the lobby, hallways... More

As others have mentioned below, don’t expect the bells and whistles offered at 5 star resorts. But do expect first class service and prime location at half the cost. The staff was friendly, professional, and accommodating. Experienced a small hiccup (delay) at check-in but front desk quickly remedied the situation. Be sure to take advantage of the staff’s vast knowledge... More

Dark hallways, elevator smelled musty & had wood panel flooring in elevators which was busted it looked like was old and coming up...the room 407 we stayed in had filthy windows (needs replaced), lamp shade had stains on them, wallpaper looked like was coming off the wall around the top of the wall near ceilings...towel rack is in the shower... I'll be honest, we were not overly-impressed with the rooms or the hotel in general. The area it is in is pretty shady and some of the foot traffic in the parking lot was questionable. The breakfasts were good, and they did put out some awesome cookies in the afternoon. The staff is what made this visit nice. They were... More

This place is beyond dirty from the homeless Russian spy riding around on the elevators tying them up to the unbelievably dirty rooms it had to be the worse stay at any hotel I been too. And I have been in some horrible hotels. Guest services was rude all they did was bounce us from dirty room too dirtier room.... More

I would have given this hotel 4 stars but the bathroom wasn't real clean. The room itself was very clean. You can tell there had been many renovations. The decor was bright and pleasant. The staff was friendly and helpful. Easy parking. Comfy beds. Breakfast was average for a hotel. They did have a few more healthy options than most.... More

This hotel is now known as Charleston Capital Hotel. The management is very good, polite and the rooms spacious. The beds are very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is good with a good variety to choose from. Its definitely very good value for the money you pay. I will definitely love to stay in this place whenever we pass through Charleston... More

DON'T BOOK THE CHARLESTON CAPITOL HOTEL!! Check in was a nightmare; they had problems with a guest and called the police; the room they assigned to me first was not cleaned (about one third of of their rooms were not available because the had NOT been serviced!); the housekeeper walked into my room without knocking while I was getting into... The location is right off I64/77 so it is very convenient to get to. The hotel has plenty of amenities, including breakfast, coffee (in room and lobby), cookies, free bottled water, pool, hot tub, fitness center, and free wi-fi. The room was pretty clean and the bed is very soft. My one complaint would be the front desk, who seemed... More

I'm from Charleston but now live and work out of state so I stay in hotels when I'm in town now. This is by far the best place to stay in Charleston for 60 bucks (booked through Expedia). It's not perfect but the rooms are modern and clean, the beds are comfortable and did I mention that it's only $60?... More
