our special needs son had been looking forward to riding this train for sometime. we went on a Wednesday and rode the 11 am 2 hour train to Whitaker station. it wasn't really crowded and the trip was plenty long for our teenagers that were not excited about the journey. The staff was helpful and they had a wheel chair... More

We took the 2 hour train ride and myself, my husband and our 2 five year daughters loved it. It was a nice, pleasant trip and all the people on the train seemed to enjoy the ride. I would recommend either bringing your own picnic lunch, or purchasing one at the company store. There is a thirty minute stop about... More

We called for information and were impressed with the helpful and friendly person who answered the phone. Today we took the 2-hour ride up the mountain and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had lunch in their cafe and our loaded hot dogs and fountain drinks hit the spot. I have visited here one other time, and I'd do it again. It's... More

Went on the dinner train ride 45 minutes each way. Called and made the reservation customer service was great and very helpful. You should get there a little early so you can look around the gift shop. The train ride was nice, we even had a band on board with us playing music up the mountain. I feel the ride... More

Spend an afternoon at Cass or spend the night in their cute little houses. A delightful, fun and learning experience for all ages. The train ride is typical of most of this type but the property overall is great even if you don't take the train ride or spend the night. It was quite chilly when we were there, even... More

We went to Whitaker Station with a 5 year old and 9 year old. Everyone had a really good time! Be sure to bring a jacket in case it gets chilly. The boys loved the train and exploring the station and surrounding area. Our guide was interesting as well.

This is the second time I have stayed in the historic houses in Cass. I knew what to expect: clean linens and towels, immaculate surfaces, and the tiny single upstairs bathroom with its Hobbit-sized sink. No air conditioning, but Cass stays cool most of the time. I bring a sleeping mask, because the sunshine certainly comes streaming in the big... More

These houses are very nice, they are the actual houses the miners stayed in after work. Plenty of options for your bed needs. These units have full service kitchens and baths. Nice quiet area to relax and enjoy.

Went on Cass for the 3rd time in 25 years. First time in spring, however, and we really enjoyed. The views were fantastic, the weather couldn't have been better. Tends to be rather cold up top in October but it was just lovely for a picnic in May 2014. We could not have had a better time. We travel with... More
