We stayed there a couple of years ago in the fall and it was beautiful. We had a great time. I do know that the owner was in very poor health and there was talk of it being sold.

How do you say "underwhelmed" any more than just that? Add "annoyed" and "disappointed", I suppose. I bought a gift certificate for a stay at this inn as a present. My wife and I Simply loved the place. The grounds and facilities are absolutely fantastic. The owners are gracious. I only wish I could have stayed longer. it is true that you will not be "smothered" with service. Thank goodness. We were allowed to wander the property and explore. Good grief! I don't know who those whiney people who wrote the last review were, but they need to just stay home! Apparently they are either used to being fetched for and kow-towed to like royalty or they are Motel 6 regulars who thought $100/night ought to buy them some kind of fantasy treatment.
