Welcome to The Country Inn! We are located in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia in beautiful Berkeley Springs, our nation's first spa. We have 70 unique rooms, English country gardens, an exclusive cottage and retreat center, gift shop, Gallery Room, Conference Room, and Parkview Restaurant & Tavern. The Country Inn was originally opened in 1933, by the local Harmison family as the Park View Inn and has been open year round ever since. Our inn possesses both bucolic charms with modern amenities. We are perfectly located in the heart of Berkeley Springs. Our town is known for its warm springs, art, antiques, and beautiful scenery. Whether you are here to take in the waters at the historic state park next door, the Renaissance Spa, or visiting our quaint shops you will be within walking distance while staying at the Country Inn.

Nestled in Berkeley Springs, The Country Inn garners appreciation for its cozy rooms and quality dining, with many guests praising the friendly service. The inn exudes a charming and inviting atmosphere, though it's not without its quirks, as some travelers mention Wi-Fi issues and wear in certain areas. While the rooms' vintage charm and cleanliness receive commendations, there are occasional concerns about maintenance. Opinions on value vary, with some guests finding the pricing fair, but others pointing out unexpected charges. Despite rare service hiccups, the staff's warm hospitality stands out.

The inn was historic, comfortable, and reasonably priced. We had a suite with a sitting room, which was great. There was a good breakfast and dinner. We did couples massage and whirlpool, which was great and on site. The inn was within walking distance to a museum and shops

This Inn, which is centrally located in a very walkable town, is full of character and the staff is very friendly. The lobby area is very warm and welcoming. We also enjoyed both our dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. However, our lodging was disappointing. Even though we stayed in one of the pricier rooms, the "Betty Lou Suite," the accommodations were not as we expected. The room and sitting area was attractively decorated but the bathroom was not heated and it was very cold for showering. Also, the corner glass sink/basin was attractive but the height was very awkward. I am 5'6" and had trouble bending over the glass edge of the basin to wash my face and brush my teeth. I found myself standing on my toes. Also, there was no space around the sink for makeup or anything but a tube of toothpaste. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable but the comforter had some dirty marks on the inside top edge and my black bedside lamp had a nice layer of dust around the edge. We paid extra for this king suite, but it was not worth it.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed our service and hospitality as well as your dining experiences. The Betty Lou Suite is one of our more popular suites, and we receive a lot of very positive feedback on that room. I'm glad you pointed out a few things that could be done to make the room more enjoyable for everyone, and we will certainly note the sink area so that it may be modified during the room's next update. Thank you again for staying with us. Sincerely, Matt Omps General Manager The Country Inn of Berkeley Springs

They advertise free wifi but the wifi signal doesn’t reach all of their rooms. The wifi signal in our room was usable around 5 percent of the time and when I called the front desk to report it, they suggested that I go into the hallway to try to connect to the wifi. So the wifi did work better in the hallway but I wasn’t about to stand in the hallway just to stay connected. When I was checking out, I mentioned that the wifi signal in our room was unusable and all I got was a ‘sorry’ and a lame excuse from another staff member walking by that the wind might have affected the (indoor) wifi signal. They know their wifi doesn’t reach all rooms, and they don’t care.

Dear William, Thank for your feedback regarding your recent stay. Our property has 18 wifi access points, and we have conducted surveys to ensure proper wifi coverage for all of our guests. I'm sorry that you did not get acceptable wifi service while staying with us. I do care that we provide proper service and amenities to all guests, and I will review all wifi procedures with our staff. And no . . . . . the wind will not affect the wifi. If it does then we have bigger problems than wifi. Thank you again for your feedback, it will be used to improve wifi troubleshooting. Sincerely, Matt Omps General Manager The Country Inn of Berkeley Springs

This will be our third stay at the Inn with it being our first time sleeping in the actual Inn. Our two prior visits were to soak at The Old Roman Bath House and get a couples massage. The couples massage is an awesome experience. My husband generally doesn't like getting a massage but he really enjoyed our couples massage. This time we came to Berkley Springs to celebrate New Years Eve and enjoy the package the offered. Both facilities are amazing but I like the more modern area in the rear, it's a little quieter. The rear area also has an elevator the Inn does not. The Inn is beautiful and our room was decorated very nice. I must add the pillows in the Inn are better than the pillows in the modern area. Every encounter we had with the staff was great. The Inn offers breakfast and dinner. We had both but really enjoyed the breakfast more.

simply one of the nicest experiences my wife and I have had. Walking into the inn was like being in Williamsburg, VA. We were treated like royalty, and the accommodations were comfortable, quiet, and spacious. We ate three meals, lunch, dinner, and breakfast all of which were wonderfully prepared and delicious, with prices being in line with any restaurant in the area.

Mary, our server, went above and beyond to help us make a reservation for the (delicious) thanksgiving buffet that was all booked up. The manager called Patty also was instrumental in helping us. Logan at the front desk of the Inn helped us to address a problem that we had at the Spa.

This is review of the restaurant within The Country Inn at Berkeley Springs as we stayed in another part of town. Food was excellent. We had dinner here two nights and breakfast on our way home on Saturday (Nov. 18). Mary was our server for dinner and she is outstanding - everything you expect from a server - personable, knowledgeable, efficient and a real people personality. Request her if you can - you won't regret it. Unfortunately, we were less than pleased with our server for breakfast - Brandi - almost the complete opposite. We waited almost 30 minutes for our order and everything delivered was not as requested. I also waited 15 minutes for a coffee refill that never came and she never checked on us once to see how things were and when she finally did come around her only question was "Do you still want that coffee?" My reply was "not now, just the check". Never saw her again as the hostess brought the check and one of the other servers was nice enough to clear our table and process our payment. I had been observing the rest of the tables served by others and their service was much more timely and efficient. Because of our experience with Mary and the great food (hats off to the chef), we so looked forward to our last breakfast in Berkeley Springs to be a great send-off before our drive home - unfortunately it was anything but. I wished we had time to have a conversation with the manager, but due to the amount of time we lost, we needed to hit the road. But I still recommend the restaurant at the Inn, just make sure Brandi is not your server.
