Chose CRSP for our annual Mother-Daughter (she's 21) weekend. We stayed in a standard cabin for 2. We loved it. When you walk in you have a full size bed, table/chairs, rocking chair, dresser, and beautiful stone fireplace. Cabin was clean and cozy. Separate full kitchen, no microwave. Bathroom with shower. Limited cell service but had enough to use my... More

Not far from the hustle and bustle of the busy city life of DC, MD and VA is the old fashioned southern community of Berkeley springs WVA. 10 miles from Cacapon resort state park. We arrived in the town of Berkley where the people were warm and friendly. Our first stop was the Ice House for the wine and food... More

Spent three nights at the lodge and enjoyed both the room and the restaurant. The building is large and overlooks a golf course. Rooms are comfortable and quiet. Internet services were off during our stay but it wasn't missed much. The lodge has upgraded to flat screen TVs a big improvement since our last stay. The restaurant has a good... More

First the positives. The 1957 lodge sits in gorgeous hilly surroundings, and our room looked out to a tree-covered ridge. The mattress was good and firm. The restaurant food was much better than we expected and the servers were excellent. Items we tried: for dinner, wings, crab cakes, traditional turkey dinner, and for breakfast the meat lover omelet, pancakes, and... More

My son and I recently made the trip from the Great White North for a weekend of much needed green grass and golf. We stayed in the lodge in a room with a queen size bed and single. Rooms in loge are not large but sufficient for our needs. It is dated but truly has a rustic feel. Staff were... More

Two friends and I shared a two bedroom cabin (cabin 13) the weekend of January 18-20. At approximately $109 per night - it's a great deal! This was my second stay at Cacapon. I have now stayed in cabin 19 & cabin 13. The cabins are not luxurious. Cabin 13 is "modern" which means it has a microwave & TV.... More

We drove here the day before a 6 inch snow. We rented the large four bedroom cabin expecting more family to join us. The cabin is very affordable for the space and there is plentiful cut wood for the fire. It is not fancy...but who expects a state park to be fancy. The beds were fine, kitchen and bath convenient... My family and I have loved visiting Cacapon State Park over the years -- and this year's stay was just as good. Cacapon is within 2 hours of DC and offers a family-friendly break from hectic days. Nothing is overdone or fussy so if you're looking for a fancy vacation, this is not for you. But if you want a... More

We were here the weekend after Thanksgiving. Lodge was fairly full, food and service was good and friendly. Room was small, very clean, bed extremely comfortable, but really needed remodeling to make better use of space and eliminate tacky stuff - especially clunky table/chair set and pipe insulation used as safety padding. WV state parks can get boring in the... More
