Visited Berkeley Springs with friends on Sunday, June 22, 2014. Checked out the Arts in the Park and Farmers Market. We were walking on main street and happened to see Maria's Garden down a side street. We decided to have lunch there. We all ordered subs. The Steak Sub was recommended and two of us chose that selection. The half... More

We were on our way out of Berkeley Springs and craving fresh salads and pizza before hitting the road. At first we didn't realize this place is also a BNB (with a wedding or service chapel on the second floor). From the street it's a tiny little entry to the restaurant. Then you realize it's actually two buildings connected (three... More

While in Berkeley Springs, we stopped with our friends for dinner at Maria’s. The ambience is that of a ‘bygone’ era, decorated heavily with Italian wall hangings, with 'piped in' music by the Italian singers of the 50s and 60s. We dined on spaghetti w/meatballs (tasty homemade sauce), NY strip, with two sides, and adult beverages. While they excelled in... More

I can only talk about the food because we didn't stay here. The food was good and reasonably priced Restaurant was really interestingly decorated. There are icons from all over the world. That was fun. Our waiter was good and attentive. I read reviews of the seafood. We didn't have that, but the Italian food we had was very good.... More

Clean, great service. Enjoyable experience. Good food. We would eat here again the next time we visit the area. The steak and cheese subs were just like back home in philadelphia. Three of us had plenty to eat for under $35.00

However, it is a dud in the food category. I don't have any opinion either way about the decoration, I guess it is odd and I like odd! . the vegetable soup was excellent. Definitely homemade, very chock full of veggies. Also got the spaghetti with a dozen of steamed shrimp. The spaghetti and sauce were very good, however the... More

After visiting the State Park and downtown areas of Berkeley Springs, we decided to take a walk along Route 522 and look for a place to have lunch. After walking 2-3 blocks, we decided to try the foods of Maria's Garden and Inn. Ambience: We saw the big statue of the Virgin Mary as we entered the restaurant. Like what... More

Asked a local where to have breakfast and Maria's Garden was recommended. Wasn't quite sure what we were in for when we walked in but being raised Catholic-well I just looked around. Yes there are a lot religous Icons but not in a bad way. They all have meaning. One reviewer said it was "not honorific"-it is if you take... More

I read some of the reviews on Yelp and this place sounded like an authentic Italian restaurant. It might have been at one time because the owner's are Italian but the cooks aren't. The two waiters were friendly enough but certainly didn't make up for the food. The salads were just your run of the mill lettuce with lots of... More

I have eaten in at least 50 "Italian" restaurants in the US over the past 70 years. With the exception of wine service and temperature control, Maria's ranks above average. We arrived a little before 5 PM on the Monday before Memorial Day, i.e., before the tourist season. The waiter was cheerful and presented the food options very well. The... More
