Took our neighbors there for a long weekend get away on the motorcycles. Yes the rooms are rustic but that's part of the fun. Stayed in a 2 queen bed room, room did exactly what it was made for. The AC was a little noisy but we still had a great time.

We had a fun stay in Cabin #1. This is a "what you see is what you get" kind of place, but in a good way. Rustic cabins, friendly staff, cozy down to earth type of feel. Close enough to town that you can walk if you want to. It would be a really fun place for a family reunion... More

This was not a good stay for us. We stayed in a "deluxe" room, upstairs, facing the river. The word rustic is code for dark and grungy. The room was hot and muggy. The AC was small, noisy, and under powered (pre '70's) and did not cool the room. It was not turned on when we arrived despite the 100... More

Things are very casual and laid back here - if you arrive and nobody's around, just grab a key and go to your room - pay in the morning. The entry hall/room is very comfortable, it has tables, games, a fire place. We had a nice room ("deluxe") upstairs, facing the river. It had a little balcony - a robin... More

This was my second stay at the Virginian. It's definitely not fancy, but the price was reasonable and it worked fine. All rooms seem far enough off the road that there wasn't a lot of traffic noise. Contrary to some of the reviews, though, not all rooms have a microwave and fridge -- we had a value priced room and... More

The room was clean, and the continental breakfast was more than adequate. The staff was very nice, and I appreciated that the hotel was pet friendly. I had no major problems with this hotel. I wish, however, that there was conditioner in the bathroom and that I didn't have to walk on the road to get to the cute part... More

We just booked again for our 4th year in a row. Always stayed in the sweet cabins but decided to try the facing river room this time. Pet friendly. Very people friendly. Love the breakfast. The whole place has a family feel to it. Clean & comfortable. Short drive to town & so much to do there.

Stayed in one of the cabins twice. Friendly owner gave late check in discount the first time staying there. Stayed last year for a couple of nights in a pet friendly cabin which was very clean and cozy with fireplace and partial kitchen. Continental breakfast and free wifi. Next to gas station, grocery store, and excellent pizza. Price very reasonable... More

Planned a couple of days over recent holiday weekend to meet friends so only needed one bed and shower. We booked several months in advance through Central Reservations, rate decent. Our room was clean, older, but gave a rustic feel. A/C worked well in this room. On ground floor in the back building by the river. Parking was tight as... More

It's an old motel, all worn wood, but a nice location by the river. You can get rooms that are just a grassy area away from the river's edge. Gas Station right next door on one side, with a grocery store and hardware store beside that. On the other side is a Pizza restaurant with outdoor seating (quite a small... More
