It looks like any other motel. Right in town near lots of places to eat. The room was great, overlooking the confluence of two rivers. Large and airy with phone/TV/wifi. Also microwave and fridge in kitchenette area. Very quiet and good aircon. Comfortable bed with good linen. Also large sofa. Fantastic balcony overlooking the rivers where you could spot wildlife... This hotel is worth every penny! In town, close to everything yet blissfully relaxing. Every room has a fantastic view of the confluence of the Chewuch and Methow rivers. Wildlife viewing right from your balcony! We will absolutely be back.

The hotel looks unpretentious from the outside, but the rooms are very nice, and they have a grand view of the river, with their own balconies furnished with chairs. The small kitchen area is helpful, and all was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Also, it's location can't be beat; a short walk to the shops and restaurants, but not in the... More

This hotel has been undergoing a rehab on the rooms and the extra effort to improve the hotel shows. The new management is easy to work with and accomodating. The rooms are rustic, kept clean and rooms overlook a river that is nice to listen to 24/7. I found it relaxing and being on the main street, restaurants, shopping, etc.... More

We stayed here for one night and loved the place. Walking distance to the entire town and right next to a wonderful bakery. The room was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated with modern country decor. Listening to the river at night was a great bonus.

I stayed at this river front hotel for 1 night while passing through Winthrop. Location is just steps to the funky cowboy town. Hotel is spotless & the views over the river were so perfect. They ha ve a lovely sitting area right on the river bank. Beautiful & serene.

The hotel doesn't look too inviting as you ride up, just a windowless wood building with some "old West", but don't be fooled. All the action is outback, where every room (I think) has a balcony overlooking a really nice river. Rooms are large, clean, well equipped. The hotel is well located a block or so from downtown Winthrop, which... More

We stayed here on a Friday night. We had to wait for the clerk to finish a phone call before checking in. We were early and they quickly checked us into a clean room. We had a nice view of the river. There was a doe with her newborn fawn on a small island in the river outside our balcony.... More

We were staying one night on a very hot day and the AC worked in the early evening but stopped around 9 pm. Finally opened up the sliding door and the sound of the river put us to sleep. Very clean and beautiful view.

First time staying in Winthrop. It was a hastily planned business trip and did not have a lot of options but very happy we ended up at the Rio. Arrived late in the evening and the front desk was very helpful and accommodating. The room was very clean and comfortable. Only regret is not being able to stay longer. Will... More
