This beautiful lodge has spacious rooms, wonderful public spaces including, a library, a tv room (there are no televisions in the guest rooms), a large view room with leather chairs, couches, ongoing fireplace fires beautiful view of the mountains...it is situated about 6 miles or so from the town of Winthrop and sits atop a mound giving 360 degree views

If you are looking for a place to get away, Sun Mountain Lodge will fit the bill. Staying in the Mt. Robinson building was perfect. A gas fireplace, nice jacuzzi tub with a stunning view, and the most comfortable bed I think I've ever slept on made this room quite special. The rooms have no tv's which I'm embarrassed to... More

The scenery and setting are absolutely gorgeous, of course, you can't go wrong with the Methow Valley. The hotel staff (front desk, housekeeping, pro shop, etc) were also incredibly helpful and informative. This was our first time trying to XC ski with littlest ones (6yrs old) and the terrain proved to be a bit challenging outside of the ski school... More

Warning about their third night free offer. I booked two nights through Expedia then booked the free third night by calling Sun Mountain. The representative on the phone did not mention I could not do the free night because I booked the two nights using Expedia. I did not find out until I checked in that the offer was not... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our x-country ski vacation here even with the spring-like skiing conditions. We've stayed here several times over the years, and the experiences have been uneven. But the lodge now seems to be running very well. Our corner room was sunny, spacious, clean and comfortable. All staff we encountered were courteous. Breakfast was delicious and was served with... This was our second time staying here and it was relaxing. We stayed in the Mt Robinson room and were given a free upgrade by Meghan; thank you so much it made everything so special. We purposely went mid week, so it was very quiet, no children around and only a few other couples. Weather was overcast and snowy, but... More

I have been coming here since I was a child and I have never been disappointed. The Lodge itself is a beautiful world class building in an un-paralleled setting. The service was excellent and seemed to have recovered from a rocky little stretch awhile back. I live in the Methow Valley now, much in part to the experiences that I... More

We stayed in the Gardner Building on the second floor for three nights. Although the weather wasn't the greatest, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was great - a king-size bed, fireplace and nice size bathroom. Customer service was great. Ate a couple of times in the bar - dining room is very expensive. Bar food was pretty good.... We were in the Mt Robinson rooms, comfortable room with great views, nice hot tub. The main restaurant served excellent, (if pricey) food, Try the mushroom strudel, and the lamb shanks, both excellent. The X-country skiing was outstanding, we had a lesson from Steph, and learned more in an hour than we had known in stumbiling around on our own... More

Location: SML gets 5 stars for exceptional, unbeatable, spectacular views...the resort is located amidst dramatic beauty. Anyone fortunate enough to see the views from SML, on a clear, blue, sunny day, will never forget the pristine landscape. It's better than picture postcard quality because the expansiveness is unimagineable. Staff: A few SML staff, deserve 5 stars; inc. Bob; he runs... More
