My husband and I stayed at Thornewood Castle on our honeymoon. We weren't sure quite what to expect after reading the other tripadvisor reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised with how enjoyable our stay was. Staff didn't even say hello, they were rude, hands-off, and told us nothing of the history of the castle. Plus the food was HORRIBLE more

We stayed at the Thornwood castle a couple summers ago and the castle itself was nicely updated, clean, warm and welcoming. The gardens and the view of the lake were lovely.
