For approximately the same cost, how nice it was to be able to stay in a stately mansion rather than in a sterile hotel room. Climb the stairs up to the second floor to the quintessential bedroom complete with two windows with lace panel curtains, an original large walk-in closet with guest robes, the bed, a small couch, vanity, A/C,... The breakfasts were fabulous, and the innkeeper was so helpful. Every day she gave me great directions to where I had to go. What a wonderful alternative to impersonal hotels! I'll definitely be back - her breakfasts were heavenly with home baked treats every morning. It's like you're staying at your favorite aunt's house!

We loved our stay. The room was comfortable and cute. The best scrambled eggs for breakfast and our gluten free request was honored with different bread. Large porch with plenty of seating. Great books to read. We asked for a map so that we could ride our bikes and Phyllis was soooo helpful. We could even leave our car in... More

We were there for Gonzaga's graduation. This is very close to Gonzaga's campus. Phyllis is a nice and knowledgeable host. The room was comfortable and clean. We had to share a bathroom and it was no problem at all. Just an FYI: There is no downstairs bathroom, and no elevator if you have to carry heavy bags. (All the rooms... More

We had a very nice experience at this B and B. My husband booked the Ivy room for us, which had a lovely, mostly private, bath with a big beautiful claw foot tub and was definitely worth the slight upgrade for us. The room was a bit dark in the emerald green with not a lot of space to spread... More

No gripes at all. We were able to book for one night a couple of hours after check-in time and did not get to met the legendary Phyllis; however, the backup hostess was a delight ... and put out a tasty, balanced breakfast. A painstaking restoration/preservation of a 1909 vintage home, including radiator heating, with nicely maintained grounds. We did... More

In addition to a welcoming atmosphere provided by Phyllis, this historic, charming and old home is sparkling clean. My room had a shared bathroom, which was not a problem. I'm looking forward to visiting it again.

The host is very friendly and makes a good breakfast, the price is reasonable, the location is great for exploring Spokane, rooms are small, and the house could do with a lot of tlc ceiling looks to have had water damage to roof leaking , windows not working properly, lots of paint peeling on outside,

I appreciate the complimentary review about friendliness, price and location. I would like to respond to the comments about water stains on the ceiling of the room this gentleman and his wife stayed in. He is absolutely right that this old vintage wallpaper had been stained prior to us putting on a new roof. Since his stay we have completely... More

My husband and I enjoyed our one-night stay at the Marianna Stoltz House in September. We would definitely recommend it and would stay there again ourselves. The breakfast wasn't quite as filling as other B&Bs we've visited, but overall a pleasant stay.

My wife and I stayed at the Marianna Stoltz House B & B on September 1, 2012. We were attending Spokane’s music and food festival at Riverfront Park, “Pig Out In the Park.” I was not sure what to expect since this was my first bed and breakfast experience. The home is beautiful and has four upstairs rooms for rent.... More
