The hotel itself is great (clean room, great decor). However, it is in dire need of a new manager. The manager Bonnie is extremely lazy and I doesn't have any customer service skills at all! On top of that, after trying to get a hold of her multiple times via phone about a problem with my stay, she replied weeks... More

Terrific little turn of the century style inn. Jessica at the desk checked us in cheerfully and playfully as I encouraged! She directed is to a nearby establishment for an evening cocktail and snack. We were greeted by Alex who was filling in for Jessica when we return and he gladly assured us that we were safe on his watch!... More

We stayed one night in a presidential suite and it was fabulous. Large suite was very clean and quiet. It's not the first time we have stayed at The Montvale and have never been disappointed. Funky property with friendly helpful staff. Location is great if your enjoying the restaurants, shopping and nightlife downtown. Will stay again for sure.

we were in Spokanebfor just one night and di not want our standy, davenport. we dound the Montvale, and were intrigued. Upon walking through the door with hardwood floors and ruby area rug, we felt transportes through time a bit. the receptionist was very helpful.. we went up to the third floor and you immediately look over into the second... My wife and I stayed here New Year's Eve, we were in town for a funeral of sorts, sadly. We had a late check-in and were pooped from driving all day. Front desk was nice, cute little restaurant, cool upstairs - very old school. Our room wasn't much, it was suitable for the night. Small TV, thin walls, but whatever.... More

It is a comfortable hotel, but there is no WiFi in the room. It's also a block from the railroad tracks, which was particularly busy the night I stayed. Finally, there's no vending machine to purchase water. So, unless you like drinking from the faucet, bring some of you own water.

My fiancé surprised with a New Years get away to Spokane...booked the Montvale Hotel, showed me pictures and it looked like a nice antique hotel. Couldn't be further from the truth!!! When we checked in we noticed that most of the businesses around were closed and most buildings were abandoned. There were all types of sketchy people walking around. We... More

Our stay at the Montvale was delightful. The room was spacious and clean, staff very friendly and helpful. When we checked in, they discussed with us the differences of the available rooms such as the south facing rooms have some noise from the railroad that runs behind the hotel or the north facing rooms have the Fox Theater sign shining... This is one of the most disappointing experiences I have had. Their advertisement is incorrect. There is no room service, not even a soda machine on the property. The rooms are bland at best, lack luster, and bad uneven floors, I fell twice in 2 days. Bathrooms are outdated. Completely under whelmed.. will not stay again, regardless of the price.

If you are looking for modern, continental breakfast and great WiFi, this is not the hotel for you. If you want downtown, walking distance to restaurants and theater, this may suit you. The hotel is definitely in need of capital improvements and some loving care, but it suited our purposes well. The 3 rooms our families occupied were clean, comfortable... More
