4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I read, copied and pasted comments and suggestions ... and was ready for what could have been a bad hotel experience. The week of our visit, Spokane was sold out with 27,500 registered 3 on 3 basketball aficionados here for the mother of all basketball tournaments. Getting ANY room seemed like a stroke of luck. Of course getting 'the last... More

Building is wonderful and nice to stay in a place with character. Staff is polite but not very helpful in being able to provide a lot of information about the neighborhood. Metered Street parking if you can get it (free on streets from 7pm - 8am and all day sundays) if not, there are parking lots next door. No coffee... More

This is a beautiful old hotels, with high ceilings and old woodwork. It is right downtown, so parking can be an issue. Parking is free after 7 pm, but the meters start again at 8 am. There is coffee and tea available on the second floor. Wineries, brewery, restaurants, and a bakery are all close by and within walking distance.... More

To start out with: a lot of the things other reviewers have whined about are sort of true ... but not totally accurate. Yes, it's downtown. Yes, parking can be problematic. Yes, the windows don't fit well. Yes, the trains roll by. Yes, some carpets are stained. But shucks ... none of those are a deal breaker as far as... More

We checked in to the hotel on a Friday night shortly before 9 and were told that we could park on the street or in the parking lot across from the hotel. Because of a huge concert, there was no parking available except in the lot across the street....$15. We left shortly before 8AM the next morning. As we were... More

First, don't believe the claims on Expedia. The amenities offered are absent. The bar closed over a year ago and the coffee, though present on the second floor, is stale. Also, and this is important to note, there is NO parking (something they fail to mention ANYWHERE). I arrived on a Thursday night and paid $20.00 to park...so, it was... More

Bit shabby (lots of red mold in the shower, sink with huge cracks, etc), but has character. Staff were pleasant. Main problem was the noise/light - no blackout curtains and I could hear pretty much every word spoken (quietly spoken) in the next room. Street noise passed through the window and walls like they weren't there. So if you go,... More

My husband and i got our room practically free through Expedia rewards points, and I'm sure that kept my expectations realistic. The building is very old, but the rooms are renovated and pretty up to date. No coffee maker was located in our room, as advertised, but the room was generally comfortable. We were on the 3 rd floor, and... More

First the good. Great location, nice staff very cool historic hotel, tons of character. The bed was super comfy and the common areas are awesome. Now for the bad which will keep me from staying here again. The wifi sucks not even usable, for a place this size (30 rooms) the problem cold be solved for a few hundred dollars.... More

I travel a lot for business and this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff was totally incompetent! There was loud music all night (Tuesday night) and the staff was totally ineffective. Don't ever stay here if you want /need a nights sleep.
