My wife and I stayed here New Year's Eve, we were in town for a funeral of sorts, sadly. We had a late check-in and were pooped from driving all day. Front desk was nice, cute little restaurant, cool upstairs - very old school. Our room wasn't much, it was suitable for the night. Small TV, thin walls, but whatever.... More

It is a comfortable hotel, but there is no WiFi in the room. It's also a block from the railroad tracks, which was particularly busy the night I stayed. Finally, there's no vending machine to purchase water. So, unless you like drinking from the faucet, bring some of you own water.

My fiancé surprised with a New Years get away to Spokane...booked the Montvale Hotel, showed me pictures and it looked like a nice antique hotel. Couldn't be further from the truth!!! When we checked in we noticed that most of the businesses around were closed and most buildings were abandoned. There were all types of sketchy people walking around. We... More

Our stay at the Montvale was delightful. The room was spacious and clean, staff very friendly and helpful. When we checked in, they discussed with us the differences of the available rooms such as the south facing rooms have some noise from the railroad that runs behind the hotel or the north facing rooms have the Fox Theater sign shining... This is one of the most disappointing experiences I have had. Their advertisement is incorrect. There is no room service, not even a soda machine on the property. The rooms are bland at best, lack luster, and bad uneven floors, I fell twice in 2 days. Bathrooms are outdated. Completely under whelmed.. will not stay again, regardless of the price.

If you are looking for modern, continental breakfast and great WiFi, this is not the hotel for you. If you want downtown, walking distance to restaurants and theater, this may suit you. The hotel is definitely in need of capital improvements and some loving care, but it suited our purposes well. The 3 rooms our families occupied were clean, comfortable... More

From the outside this hotel could easily pass as another dive-inn. Not because there is anything run down or poorly designed, but because the lobby is about the size of a small bedroom. But once you get in the elevator and go up a floor, it open into this beautiful multi-story atrium with a wonderful warmth - dark brown wood... More

We booked a night to break up a long drive from Canada. After 8 hours at the wheel, we pulled up to the hotel. Right from the start, I knew it was a huge mistake. With my wife and son in the car, the hotel is in a very sketchy part of town. Just not safe feeling. There is no... More

I stumbled upon this gem on a roadtrip, it is a fantastic historic hotel, rich with history and detail, conveniently located downtown. The rooms are spacious, clean, with high ceilings. I only stayed one night and had free parking on the street in front of the hotel. The hotel has a great atrium with free gourmet coffee all day. Checking... More

This renovated small heritage hotel (reputedly once a bordello) is great value and conveniently located just across the street from the Fox Theatre -- a spectacular Art Deco restoration and home of the Spokane Symphony. Next door is a pleasant restaurant and lounge for pre or post performance libations and eats - called Scratch. At the Montvale the beds are... More
