We spent a wonderful couple of days in a caboose and exploring the history of the area near Cle Ellum. It was fascinating to relive the bygone days of railroading by living in a remodeled caboose. It was upgraded to include all the bells and whistles of a comfortable bed and breakfast room. Each day began with a delicious breakfast... More

What a wonderful gem! I came to Cle Elum for a trail race and had the pleasure of staying at the Iron Horse in one of the caboose rooms. So glad I found this place! Mary (the owner) was the perfect host making all guests who walked through the door feel welcome. There was every attention to detail and in... More

My husband and I stayed for one night on a trip through Washington State this past summer. It was very hot - we looked at the 'caboose' rooms, which sound so cute online but which were way too hot for the time of year we were there. We stayed in the main house; the room had a window air conditioner... More

I stayed at Doug and Mary's delightful, historical B&B over a stormy winter weekend and utilized Cle Elum as my home base during a quick trip to eastern Washington. I found their excellent reviews here on Tripadvisor.com after doing a Google search of B&B's in Ellensberg, WA. Although I had not planned to stay in Cle Elum, I couldn't resist... More

My husband and I decided to visit Iron Horse B&B for our 2 yr anniversary at the recommendation of multiple people. We arrived later on a Sunday evening to a warm reception area and the pleasant company of Doug & Mary. We set up our breakfast time and picked up the key to our caboose. The one we stayed in... We have stayed here twice this year. Once in June with beautiful warm weather and in September seeing all the fall colors. Doug & Mary are wonderful host. Doug cooks up an unbeatable breakfast and Mary has a welcoming pleasant spirit. Rooms are upstairs or in a train caboose.

We stayed here with our three boys and had a blast. The two older boys loved sleeping up in the lookout of the caboose and the bed for us adults was comfortable. We went on the walking tour of the nearby historic train depot and breakfast was amazing the following morning. There is a small park onsite with swings and... More

My husband and I were in town for a family event and enjoyed our stay at the Iron Horse Inn. Mary and Doug were terrific hosts, very welcoming and full of helpful information. We stayed two nights and were treated to delicious breakfasts both mornings. The inn has many quiet spaces to sit and relax (including a lovely gazebo) and... More

My family and I stayed here on Veterans Day Sunday. Doug and Mary were so generous to offer us a room for free because my husband is active duty air force and I am a veteran. We brought our 2 &3 year old with us and stayed in the Great Northern caboose. The kids loved sleeping in a train. They... More

I stayed at the Iron Horse Inn B&B over Veteran's Day weekend 2012 for FREE! The owners ran a free nights stay for military members (veterans and active duty). I am a veteran and this was such a special fun night. I brought my mom and newborn baby with me. This was my first time staying at a B&B so... More
