As soon as you walk in the door the Shelburne seems like home away from home if somewhat more cluttered than most of our homes. This is a friendly retreat from the weekday pressures of Seattle and Portland. Seaview is lazy and charming with avenues of wooden clapboard houses dating back to the late19th century backing on to a beautiful... More

The inn has much of the feel of a B&B. It's an old building, and as such (and as others have noted) it has its quirks. The walls-and floors-are not as well sound-proofed as a modern building; we could hear noise from the dining room immediately below us in the evening, but by bed-time all was quiet. Rooms vary in... Great historic inn and charming room though it was so tiny I kept bumping into the bed. Free WiFi and free breakfast. If you book with group on you also get a bottle of wine. I would recommend paying a little extra and getting a bigger room.

Sweet historical inn. We loved the ambiance, and overall feel of this place. Beware the stairs are narrow and floors uneven but that adds to the charm of living in the past a bit. Pub and restaurant were excellent. The restaurant is not to be missed. Owner David is a delight!

We stayed at this historic hotel and enjoyed the beautiful stained glass which was recovered from a building in Britain. The colors of the stained glass were bright and vibrant. The staff were pleasant and service oriented. We stayed in a room with a balcony and were glad we did because the room got stuffy and we had to leave... More

Once again the Shelburne was a stop for my wife and I on our way to Cannon Beach. As usual, the breakfast and dinner were great. We were put up in a lovely huge room which led out onto the garden. Once again, David was most entertaining and who cares if he tries to sell you pottery !! He is... More

We recently stayed at the Shelburne Inn for a wedding at the nearby Sou'wester Lodge. We were there with our one year old. The Inn is not exactly set up for a one year old, but the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant and easy as possible. They let us use their fridge to store... More

This is a nice, quaint hotel--but a little worn around the edges. Room was small and bed was old and less than entirely comfortable. Bathroom could use updating. Basically, if you like "quaint," it's for you; if you prefer more modern comforts, less so.

This inn was an interesting place to stay, lots of history having been built in 1896 for the elite of Portland. Looks like much (or maybe all) of the building is original. Very quaint and charming. On the other hand, I think 1950's cars are also quaint and charming but they aren't much fun to drive very far. I like... More

We stayed two nights and enjoyed ourselves. We were in Room 8 which is very small, but it was comfortable. Owner David is very friendly and witty. first night at dinner we were told a crowd had just arrived and they were running behind...which didn't bother us but the waitress really didn't need to apologize SEVERAL times. Second morning a... More
