This was definitely a great place to remember and I will be visiting again soon. Ellen and Richard are very friendly and welcoming making you feel comfortable during your stay. I stayed 2 nights and the breakfast each day was so delicious.....they are very accommodating and are concerned about food sensitivities and will cook food according to your needs. The... More

This area looked to be a convenient overnight stop on our way to the Washington Coast, so we searched the internet and discovered the Shepherd's Inn B&B in Salkum, WA. It is actually about a mile or so off WA Hwy 12, around 15 mi. east of I-5, and although in a heavily wooded area it was very easy to... More

Stayed here one night en route to the Olympic National Park. It provides very comfortable accommodation in a lovely location. The breakfast was delicious. I did have to stow some of the toy sheep in the wardrobe though - sorry. There is a Chinese restaurant nearby, about the best option for an evening meal. The portions are really huge though,... More

Where to start? - Richard and Ellen were most helpful when it came to a lost bag. They provided excellent advice about the area (Mt St Helens and Mt Rainier) and about places to eat. The breakfasts were delicious and vaired and we were even quite sad to go. VERY highly recommended!

This B&B is off the beaten path in an area without many B&Bs, but it is an absolute delight! The hosts are friendly and warm, the accommodations comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious! The wooded surroundings are very nice We stayed in the one room with a frig and microwave, which was very convenient (but perhaps not essential for everyone).... More

Our room was very comfortable and breakfast was very good. Ellen and Richard are very hospitable and provided help with the area. We used it as a base to visit Mt St Helens (do not miss) and Mount Ranier. We stayed in the bedroom closest to the living room area and the walls are a little thin, but people went... More

Unfortunately we only stayed for 1 night. Everything was much better than we had expected from the web site. The room was very comfortable, the location really quiet, breakfast was very good and our host was very hospitable. We used it as a base to visit Mount Rainier (fantastic) which is abour 1hr 30min away.

It was the photo on the website for The Shepherd's Inn ( http://theshepherdsinn.com) that made us determined to see this green and leafy paradise for ourselves. The road through the woods convinced us we had made a great choice for a serene and peaceful setting, and the warm hospitality and spotless accommodations awaiting us at the end of the drive... More

We planned to stay 3 nights and stayed 4! Ellen and Richard are great hosts and the atmosphere in the house with other guests over breakfast and evening treats was wonderful! Highly recommended!

Driving to the Shepherd's Inn, we were a bit worried that it would be OK, as it's out in the boonies. But we had few choices in this area between Mt Rainier and Mt St. Helens. We were greatly relieved to find the Shepherds Inn -- full middle-class comforts. I would go here again in a second.
