We had a wonderful stay at The Shepherd's Inn. We arrived late at night, and Richard welcomed us with a hot cup of tea and cosy conversation. The room was very comfortable and extra clean. The homemade breakfast next morning was delicious and plentiful. We'd definitely recommend the B&B to our friends and family.

My wife and I were coming back from a business meeting in Oregon and decided to break our return trip with a stop in this gorgeous part of Washington state. The Shepherd's Inn is an absolutely delightful B&B, tucked beautifully away in a sylvan setting, just a couple minutes off US 12. Our room was spacious, the bed was firm,... More

This house is the cleanest that we've ever experienced! I thought we were staying at my mother-in-law's house, not a B&B. :) The pillow and sheets were so nice and crisp; they seemed brand new. The breakfast is outstanding; e.g., delicious homemade crepe with huckleberry, and potato and cheese frittata. Overall, the price is average for the room we had.... More

We stayed there for 2 nights, we were made very welcome and the breakfast were yummy. It did not stop there, evening tea and cake, hospitality and sharing their experiences, travel etc. Great place to stay - loved it. Jon & Hazel Sydney Australia.

Ellen and Richard were such welcoming hosts! They offered us home made pie on arrival, we took a relaxing bath in the jacuzzi after our day of hiking around mt st helens, and we had a tasty and generous serving of breakfast. Ellen found out for us that a road we were planning to take was still closed for the... More

This was definitely a great place to remember and I will be visiting again soon. Ellen and Richard are very friendly and welcoming making you feel comfortable during your stay. I stayed 2 nights and the breakfast each day was so delicious.....they are very accommodating and are concerned about food sensitivities and will cook food according to your needs. The... More

This area looked to be a convenient overnight stop on our way to the Washington Coast, so we searched the internet and discovered the Shepherd's Inn B&B in Salkum, WA. It is actually about a mile or so off WA Hwy 12, around 15 mi. east of I-5, and although in a heavily wooded area it was very easy to... More

Stayed here one night en route to the Olympic National Park. It provides very comfortable accommodation in a lovely location. The breakfast was delicious. I did have to stow some of the toy sheep in the wardrobe though - sorry. There is a Chinese restaurant nearby, about the best option for an evening meal. The portions are really huge though,... More

Where to start? - Richard and Ellen were most helpful when it came to a lost bag. They provided excellent advice about the area (Mt St Helens and Mt Rainier) and about places to eat. The breakfasts were delicious and vaired and we were even quite sad to go. VERY highly recommended!

This B&B is off the beaten path in an area without many B&Bs, but it is an absolute delight! The hosts are friendly and warm, the accommodations comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious! The wooded surroundings are very nice We stayed in the one room with a frig and microwave, which was very convenient (but perhaps not essential for everyone).... More
