Recently stayed in this hotel while travelling to Pullman for a baseball tournament. Requested a room away from traffic and other noise. As luck would have it, we were placed in a room right on the road. Not to mention that when I sat down on the bed and looked down, the bedskirt was covered in what looked like blood.... more

Initially I was booked on the first floor. The rooms were basic hotel fare but very cozy. The bed was comfortable. They do allow pets at this hotel and my first night I got stuck next to a non-stop barking dog. At around midnight I went out to the front desk and asked them if they would do something. Then... more

Since I have never been to Pullman, I booked this room without doing any research. Big mistake. The hotel is supposed to be two stars, but it fails way short of even that low standard. The rooms are very dated and have seen many years of use. The place is clean, but for the cost, I expected much more. So... more

The rooms are very overpriced for their quality, and are at best, average motel rooms with thin walls. Unfortunately, the hotel has serious problems with a lack of hot water. When you walk in, there is a sign on the front desk that askes you to leave the water running for a while to get hot water. After ten minutes,... more

As a business person who travels full-time, the Hill Top was the best you could hope for in a small town. I lived at this hotel for 3 months. The staff was wonderful, the owner/manager Barb, was beyond accommodating. I felt like family. This is not a Grand Hotel but a warm cozy, super clean place that feels like home.... more

I accompanied my husband to Pullman on a work function. The event occurred at this hotel. We stayed a total of five nights (Sunday to Friday). Guests were pretty quiet, a bit of road noise. The staff was friendly and efficient. The room (3rd floor) was showing its age and we figured it was due to the rowdiness of the... more

My daughter and I were in town to tour Washington State University. After the exceedingly long check in, we were pointed down the hall to an antiquated elevator. When the elevator finally arrived we were hesitant to get on, but since we were on the third floor, we risked it. As luck would have it, our room was directly in... more

We are a small family owned and operated hotel and are currently in a long process of updating the rooms. We do the best we can with limited resources. We are very proud of our helpful and friendly staff. We are sorry that your stay was below expectations. We are 100% non smoking, but guests unfortunately still smoke in rooms....

After my car was broken into and money from my purse was stolen, I found myself lost in Pullman searching for a decent place to sleep. On the weekend of a big football game there was really nowhere available to stay and I felt somewhat lucky to have found the Hawthorn Inn. My luck went downhill from there. For not... more

We are sorry that you found our hotel to be below your standards. We are a small family owned and operated hotel, and our staff consists of very hard working college students that juggle both school and a job. It was a 100% sold out weekend, and our guest service representive did their best to provide accomodations to you at...

We visited the Palouse area and had a really hard time finding any decent hotel options with vacancy. It was the week of orientation for WSU so it was pretty booked up. We found an incredibly reasonable rate at the Hawthorn Inn and when we arrived we were delighted to find that it's up on a hill away from the... more

The two best strengths of this hotel were the staff and the room size. Also, the indoor pool and jacuzzi were good. A few additional comments... 1. The mattress was slightly saggy. This is one of those things hotels have to get right, but Hawthorne didn't. 2. The breakfast was decent and is included in the price. A very similar... more
