I was unexpectedly stuck in Pullman on graduation weekend, with all "popular" hotels booked or asking Waldorf Astoria rates for that "one remaining suite." Drove by the American Travel Inn, noticed that the no vacancy sign was not lit, and asked if they had anything available. Well, for about $90 I got a very decent size room, tucked in a side alcove away from the parking lot, with a decent bed and a clean bathroom. My only complaint was one of those high pressure shower heads, probably designed in Guantanamo, which feels like 10,000 needles ripping the skin off your body. Truth be told, the place looks a little shabby from the outside, but it gets the job done unless you can't live without a free continental breakfast (note: there's a good family restaurant next door). more
