I stayed here briefly this summer with my husband. The inn keeper was very nice and gave us a history of the mansion and of Port Townsend. It was a beautiful mansion full of antiques, no modern amenities like a tv or anything, but kept just as it was when it was built. After several hours at the hotel we... More

I snuck away here for a solo trip. If you are a lover of Victorian architecture like I am, then the Ann Starrett Mansion will not disappoint. It is a singular experience. The house itself is absolutely stunning, and it has been decorated with an impressive selection of period pieces. Staying there is like stepping out of time for a... More

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in the drawing room at the Ann Starrett Mansion. The outside was getting some painting done and it needed it. We spoke to the painter who was very friendly and offered some great info on the area homes. I gathered he spends most summers working on the mansion even going to the tip... More

The first thing I noticed were the deer freely roaming the grounds. Okay they freely roam the city, but my room was the lower carriage room. I had french doors to the garden and therefore a full view of the doe and fawn nibbling away at the grass. With the french doors open I heard the gulls distantly. I noticed... More

We accidentally stumbled upon the mansion when driving around Port Townsend. We needed a place for my husband and me to have a private room and our friend to have a room to herself. The mansion had a little cottage that was PERFECT for our needs and at an amazingly cheap price for all that was offered--two rooms, kitchenette, nice... More

Our guidebooks had mentioned this hotel, and as we always enjoy staying in period buildings with character we sought it out. No-one else was staying the night we were there so we had a free choice of rooms, and took two interconnecting ones on the first floor (British usage!). The decor is somewhat overwhelming, and I doubt I could live... More

Had a romantic and wonderful stay at the Starrett Mansion for Valentines. The rooms are clean, decorated perfectly with period furniture. The entry way and grand staircase is unlike any I have ever seen. Richard was friendly and accommodating for our needs. I would recommend this hotel for a Port Townsend getaway.

We recently stayed here after finding everything else booked in Port Townsend. We booked it based on the fact they had an opening and it looked relatively nice. After booking, we read some of the reviews and were a little worried what we might find. We arrived to find a quaint Victorian in a nice little neighborhood. The woman who... More

In a tranquil neighborhood, beautifully landscaped and elegantly appointed, this old house is beautiful to look at, if a little down at the heel, and the rates are quiet reasonable. The walls are sadly thin, and we were barraged by conversations in two of the adjoining rooms.
