Stayed at Manresa on a whilwind tour of Washington state. Manresa dominates the hilltop about one mile from downtown Port Townsend. The public spaces are very dark. The decor was not quite antique and not quite period. It reminded me of the house on the Munsters. I was waiting for a ghost to jump out at any moment. Our room... more

The staff was very helpful, and the property is beautiful! Our room was amazingly beautiful. We stayed here the night before and the night of our wedding. The cons of this hotel are: only one elevator, and it must be operated by the staff - you can't just use it at your convenience, the wi-fi only works in the lobby,... more

Port Townsend is amazing on it's own but ever since I was little I have wanted to stay at the Manresa Castle. I heard that it was haunted so I decided to bring my sweet heart there for Valentine's weekend. (hoping but not looking for something to happen.) We stayed one night in a room on the 3rd floor and... more

We had a little trouble finding the hotel when we arrived. There were no signs from the main road and it was very dark. We did find a good coffee shop, Grounds for Perfection, just along the highway on the right. They told us how to get back to the hotel. When we did get to the hotel, we were... more

To put this in proper context, our night at Manresa Castle followed our not so wonderful night at Lake Quinault Lodge (see separate review). Since I had booked both of these using the same information and both are vintage "small hotels", I had quite a bit of trepidation as we approached the Castle. The contrast between the two could not... more

We really enjoyed this place and the price was right. The view we had of the ocean was beautiful and the bathroom was large. The bed was very comlortable and the meal we had at the restaurant was wonderful. The breakfast they provided was plentiful and the staff was helpful. The only problems would be the noise in the hallways... more

We stayed as a family with one child under 10 for 2 nights at the castle. If you are into old victorian homes, a unique experience living in an old 19th century home that away from other commercial establishments, you will like it. But be prepared for some unconfortable beds, cramped rooms and dated furnishings. Overall, the stay was better... more

Had a good one night stay recently. Booked room 304, a deluxe suite over the courtyard. Room is large, bed is very comfortable, and the bath includes an oversized jacuzzi -- more of a hot tub, but large enough for two with plenty of room to spare. And the room was very clean. The restaurant is simply outstanding. Chef does... more

Our room was okay, although the classic, beautiful chairs in our room weren't very clean. But the bathroom was pretty cool, beautiful white tile, large frosted glass window, and big fluffy towels. Our dinner in the dining room was quite good, although our waiter was a bit goofy. While I didn't actually see a ghost, I slept poorly & had... more

We stayed here on April 21st. The castle looks great inside and out. We got a "Town View" room, which was well worth the extra $10. "Courtyard View" rooms overlook a grim grocery store parking lot. The location is a about a mile out of the main town, which makes it a lot quieter than the hotels in town. The... more
