We stayed here for a family gathering. It was wonderful having a place big enough to accommodate all of us. The houses are definitely in need of some updates but, overall they were fine. We did have a huge problem by not being able to reach the after hours maintenance person. NOT okay!!! The kitchen had plenty of dishes and... More

Walking through the old bunkers you get an eerie feeling. If you close your eyes you can almost imagine the noise of goings on around you. The yelling of the officers, the trucks rumbling down the road, maybe a few guys playing cards in their down time near one of the buildings. The underground rooms are pitch black so bring... More

Went to the visitor center in town and was informed if you park near the main buildings, parking is free. From there we walked down the beach to the lighthouse, which is fenced off. Near camping spot 50, there is a trail that goes up to the bunkers. It is a bit strenuous but worth the effort. As you walk... More

The dog and I had fun exploring this park. We went out and seen the lighthouse and then hiked up to the old fort and went through all the old cement structures. It is a hike up there though as they do not let you drive but it is a wide paved road. Neat old historic buildings.

Alexander's Castle, built in 1883, is an excellent choice for accommodations at Fort Worden. The roomy downstairs has a dining room, sitting room, small kitchen where meals can be cooked in-house and a bathroom with a claw-foot tub. The upstairs (in the tower) has a large king bed with luxurious linens, windows with views of Admiralty Inlet , as well... More

The officers quarters here are very old and musty but if you just want a spot to sleep and enjoy the Jazz Festival, this place has great value as each house can accommodate up to seven people. You do need a car to get around as it is not close to downtown but has great views of the ocean.

The campus is historic w/many art/cultural events that make staying in one of the single rooms as part of the old barracks convenient and a good value (@ around $42/night for a weeklong stay and a 2/meal per day plan of about $200 for a week) but the sidewalks are full of dangerous cracks, the matresses thin and slippery, and... If you like history, staying in the officer houses at Fort Worden will be a great experience for you. They are extremely spacious inside and you will even have plenty of room to bring air mattresses for children if you have a large party. The bedrooms have very comfortable beds with very nice quality linens. Linens and towels are changed... More

Very cool old house! Plenty of pics available on website. Very comfy beds. Plenty of towels. Quiet. Tub in upstairs bathroom and very small shower in downstairs one. So much to see and do! Would stay here again, but bring comfortable chairs for front porch to people watch. Also, don't skip out on the museum!

This was a last-minute selection, as the choices seemed pretty limited in town, and the places with availability had pretty so-so ratings. It was a great choice, just 5-10 min north of downtown. We did take advantage of their last-minute deals available on the website - I doubt we would have stayed for the full price, as I agree with... More
