The Palace hotel, with its red and white awning is located in the middle of the waterfront district. It's a 3 story building, that is clean, historic and comfortable. If you're looking for a 5 star hotel in any of PT, you won't find one, but in my estimation, the Palace is the best place to stay for the value... More

It was fun to stay in a place with the feel of a 19th century seaport. Our room (Miss Claire, 2nd floor) was beautifully decorated for the period. Although you give up a few amenities (such as a large bathroom countertop, air conditioning, and elevator), the charm and whimsy of the place make up for it. The room was clean,... More

While the hotel and rooms are quaint , and I don't disagree with some of the other reviews, what's been neglected to be said is that you have to walk up nearly 60 steps to get to the third floor. And it's a steep incline. Our faced the water and had great views, but was very warm, even with a... More

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Its location is very good on the main road of downtown, close to the beaches as well as restaurants and other shopping places. The property reminds us of a royal villa now converted to a hotel with all modern amenities but with a touch of old times in terms of furniture & fittings,... More

We stayed on the top floor facing the water, which was nice for the view, but kind of hot in the summer. Also, the windows should be cleaned -- kind of gross to see bird poo obscuring your lovely vista. Mona's room had a big bed and bathroom, clean but could use some updating. I think some of the rooms... More

Very clean and well operated hotel right in town. All the rooms are large and well kept. They accept government rates. Bars and dinning a minute or less away. Nice sitting rooms with games. You will not be disappointed.

We stayed in the Miss Ruby room, which was spacious, clean and comfortable. It had a nice view (side street, old Victorian buildings, tree tops, water in the distance.) It's located right downtown, so it's very convenient to all the restaurants and shops. And there is free parking behind the hotel, which is a plus. The building is beautiful. I... More

We stayed at the Palace on two separate occasions. The rooms are nicely appointed and the ceilings look to be about 12 feet high! The second time we were there we had 3 separate rooms. We were cleaning out our moms house. We came across a small statue of Charlie Chaplin sitting in a chair. It was perfect decor for... More

From the staff to the decorations and furniture we found this hotel to be a very pleasant experience. We enjoyed the view from our room and the convenient location for shopping and restaurants. The stairs were wide and an easy walk up or down. We will go back if staying in Port Townsend again.

We love this place. Hard to get a room (military is a big contract so most of the time they don't have rooms available for the public) but when you can it's worth it. Perfectly located in the center of old town so lots of shops and food around. Rooms are all different and named after women. We stayed in... More
